The move follows an earlier WestJet decision to remove seat recline on some aircraft, which the airline later paused after public backlash. WestJet says the video shows one of its newly reconfigured planes, previously operated with an all-economy layout. The changes add an extra row of seats by reducing seat pitch from 38 to 28 inches. WestJet says the configuration matches other North American airlines and that all modifications meet Transport Canada standards and the company’s internal safety requirements.
