You need to stop allowing others to call you British, simply do not accept it.
You are Scottish not British. A supporter of Scottish independence living in your Scottish homeland.
Shut them down, accept no bull shit, ignore their feelings like they ignore yours.
If they ask you what it says on your passport tell them you do not have one. Leave them no way to continue their nonsense.
