It looks like Iran is left with only two choices: sit back and watch the US Navy escort ships through the strait, losing all their leverage, or respond militarily to protect it. The former would gut their bargaining power, while the latter gives the US and Israel the perfect excuse to restart hostile military operations. We all know what Iran is going to choose. Some interesting Korean names I’ve been looking into:
1) APR Corporation - imo the only cosmetics name globally worth owning. Insane socials ground game and huge ramp coming from offline penetration in US + SKU expansion beyond their very successful Medicube product. You’ll say its run up a lot, I’m confident its going higher. Excellent management.
2) Park Systems - Metrology leader, solid pure play on AFM.
3) Wonik IPS - ALD/CVD/PECVD for memory. Key equipment makers for Samsung foundry.
4) ISC Co - kind of like Korean Teradyne. Margins expanding as early system level test socket market basically a duopoly between ISC and Winway. Still cheap.
5) Mico Ltd - kind of like Korean Element Solutions. Precision cleaning + ceramic chamber components.
6) Hyundai Rotem - TANKS.

Something I think about is how the algos are all trade on post 2008 world, but not on prior regimes like 1990s or 1970s. Thus, how they react to news can be irrational from a macro context but consistent with their training.

Trump had a coherent plan that significantly leveraged unilateral tariff threats to coerce foreign nations to ally in a united front of what is basically a wartime footing. Without that leverage his tools of coercion become dramatically more chaotic. This is one of the biggest one-day shocks to uncertainty in decades, though the full effects may not be apparent immediately.
