I don’t know if this is bait, but some towns have like… 4 bands. and maybe 2 within your genre.

@hlagband I think once a month locally is a decent rate for many smaller bands. There's a lot of context that changes case by case, and I agree it's important to not slack on promoting if you're a local supporting a touring act.

Cannot wait. I got to talk to the team behind this in 2023, who told me: "Believe it or not, this is 100% stop-motion, including the explosions and sawdust. We filmed the sawdust separately (tried millions of takes...) and layered the best version with the characters."

when trying to socialize at shows while sober, I struggled with that lull in conversation after the small talk catch up, so I tried “my parents are dating” and it’s created a large conversation every single time

one of the most insane things is that Reid Miles, Blue Note’s graphic designer and creator of basically a whole visual vocabulary for music, didn’t like jazz and never listened to any of the records he worked on. just asked what the vibe was, flew blind and nailed it every time.

Trying to think of books where the film adaptation is considered vastly superior in quality. An odd one would probably be The Bridges of Madison County which consistently is picked as one of Clint's best directed films but the novel is usually considered mediocre at best
