Folks did the same thing w/ The Underground Railroad. Was it difficult to watch at times? Yes! But… Was it expertly directed? Yes. Were the performances amazing? Yes. Was this “familiar” story uniquely told? Yes. Was it beautifully shot? Yes. But it was dismissed sight unseen.
