@KemiBadenoch @KemiBadenoch please put clear blue water between Tories and Reform especially their penchant for ICE-style deportations and internment camps and their attitude to the environment. Labour has betrayed nature, Reform would do worse.

okay I guess I have to talk about Péter Magyar here. Let me just start with saying, in a very unladylike way, that you guys seem to have zero clue what happened in Hungary in the last two years, you completely miss the point, and you're a disappointing bunch. Let's go.

Let me explain something to the MAGA crowd, because clearly someone needs to. They seem to think NATO is cosmic room service. You pick up the phone, say “hello, we’re having a bit of a war here,” and thirty-one countries march to your rescue. A continental Uber for military adventures. That is not how it works. Article 5 is a mutual defense clause. The clue is in the word mutual. And it has been triggered exactly once in NATO’s entire history. After September 11. When America was attacked. Not Europe. America. Every NATO member showed up. They went to Afghanistan. They fought. They bled. They died. In America’s war. On America’s behalf. Now imagine they hadn’t. Over 1,100 allied soldiers died in Afghanistan. British, Canadian, German, Danish, Polish. And yes, even Ukrainian soldiers, who had no NATO obligation whatsoever. Gone. Without them, those are American names on those graves. Sons from Ohio. Fathers from Georgia. Kids from Nebraska who never came home. Then there is the money. NATO allies spent over 100 billion dollars on a war that started on American soil. Without that, Washington pays every cent. On top of the 2 to 3 trillion the war already cost. And without allied bases across Europe and Central Asia, American supply lines collapse entirely. Without British forces in Helmand and Canadians in Kandahar, the Taliban reconstitutes in three years instead of ten. The gaps get filled one way. More American deployments. More American coffins arriving at Dover. Afghanistan was bloody. But NATO took the hit. Without them, every single one of those casualties would have had an American name. Trump called allies like these losers. Suckers. If you are a certain kind of broken person, that probably makes sense to you. But for the rest of us, what those soldiers did has a different name. Honor. The bond between men who have been in the same dirt, under the same fire. Between Brits and Americans, Frenchmen and Norwegians, Canadians and Danes. Not a diplomatic relationship. A blood bond. Brotherhood forged in places most people will never see and cannot imagine. In that culture, you do not mock a fallen ally. You do not sneer at the dead. It is the lowest thing a human being can do. Trump did it to a standing ovation. If you are a MAGA supporter travelling to NATO countries, understand this. There are no friendly pats on the back waiting for you. No one will buy you a beer. The governments who share your worldview sit in Minsk, Moscow and Pyongyang. Brutal dictatorships where journalists disappear, elections are theatre and dissent is a medical condition treated in basements. Not London. Not Paris. Not Rome, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Berlin or Ottawa. You have abandoned the open societies, the free press, the rule of law, the places where people actually want to live. You traded the best of civilization for a very small, very dark room. Frankly, it serves you right. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

Rabbits, a favourite Easter icon, have a desperately short life as the 2nd most industrially farmed species in EU. The majority, in caged farming systems with little space, cant stretch out, sit with ears erect or get up on haunches. Some can’t even perform a single hop 🐇 #WakeUpWorld #EndTheCageAge #EndFactoryFarming @CIWF_Global

One of the UK’s versions of #Ridglan, MBR Acres in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, where over 2,000+ beagles are bred into an existence of suffering annually — shipped off to laboratories to be tormented to their very last breaths and discarded. Pls, all, do your part to end this!

@stevebell01 @adamboultonTABB There is a lot of competition. It’s a huge field. Remember he told Chancellor Merz that defeating the Nazis was “a bad result for you, of course”. In that instance Merz said brightly “On the contrary, a good result”.

It has been almost a year since the Kremlin’s rosy dream, along with that of its useful idiots, became reality: the U.S. administration withdrew 99% of its support for Ukraine, despite the American public opinion. And yet even that scenario, which once seemed apocalyptic, did not break Ukraine or produce a decisive shift in the war. This month, Ukrainian forces are even carrying out successful counterattacks near Zaporizhia, pushing Russians back and strengthening their defensive positions. Let this sink in for a moment. Even after America, once Ukraine’s greatest supporter and partner, walked away (and at times openly pressures Kyiv toward capitulation), Ukraine did not surrender. Once again, it found a way to continue the fight. And it's against one of the largest, wealthiest, and most ruthless military powers in the world, backed by its totalitarian allies, a regime that intimidates entire countries into paralysis by fear. This rests on the daily effort and sacrifice of millions of people, both at the front and at home. It also depends on the goodwill of those who continue to support Ukraine and make difficult decisions, who resist cheap populism and corrupt dealings with the aggressor, even if they often struggle with hesitation or inconsistency. So when someone comes and calls Ukraine a “failed state," or "Ukrainians don't want this country" and things like that, it is no longer just inaccurate. It is simply dumb and delusional. Ukrainians have moved mountains, endured hardship and shed immense blood many, many others would not have withstood.

We are heartbroken to share that our 2025 Thin Blue Paw Lifetime Achievement Award winner, retired police dog Fiji, has sadly passed away. 🌈💔 Fiji holds a special place in all our hearts. She has been an ambassador for our Foundation since its launch in 2020, taking part in our very first retired police dog photoshoot. Over the years, her handler and mum, PC Bird, alongside Fiji, volunteered hundreds of hours to support our work, and it has been our honour to fund two lifesaving surgeries for Fiji during her retirement, thanks to you, our wonderful supporters. In 2025, Fiji received our Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her remarkable lifesaving service with Surrey Police. Her journey in life did not begin easily; she was rescued as a tiny puppy alongside her mum and siblings after their owner tragically took their own life, yet she went on to become an extraordinary police dog and beloved companion. It is with great pride that we share this tribute to Fiji on behalf of her mum, PC Bird: "She was my girl. From the minute I met her at just 9 months old, we had the strongest bond and the most incredible life together. My family and I have memories we will cherish forever — right until the end, giving her a McDonald’s meal and having RPD Sox and RPD Eva with her as she passed. I will miss her more than words can say. Moving on will be incredibly hard, but she truly had a long, amazing life. She recovered from a serious injury at work and went through two other life-changing operations. Fiji was commended during her service, and when she was injured and retired, she became our much-loved family pet. I will miss her spooning me, the cuddles, kisses, face licking, barking at other dogs and people, her love of the farm, swimming, rolling in the grass, her smelly breath, her 5pm dinner reminders… and her farts. Coming back to work after maternity leave and being given Fiji was life-changing. She truly was an incredible dog. I’m so incredibly grateful to the Foundation and everyone who donated for helping to save Fiji’s life and for helping me make her happy during retirement. Until I see you again in heaven, my best friend and work companion. People say working dogs are not just dogs, and it is so very true, they give 100% to their handler, and the bond is unbreakable." Your service is done. Stand down. Rest in peace, Fiji. 💙🚔🐶🇬🇧

Today, Russia struck another American business in Ukraine—a civilian production facility of Mondelez in Trostianets—one of the first major U.S. investments in Ukraine’s independent economy. The missile hit one of the production buildings. Fortunately, there were no casualties. This is not a military target, but a factory that has operated since the 1990s, producing globally known brands, employing Ukrainians, contributing to our and American economy. When Russian missiles hit such sites, they are not only targeting Ukraine. They are targeting American business interests in Europe. Moscow cannot speak of economic dialogue with the United States while attacking U.S.-owned production facilities. Targeting peaceful industry is not warfare — it is deliberate economic terror. Accountability must follow.
