The Telegraph conducted a survey asking whether 2008 Manchester United would beat 2026 Arsenal. What are your thoughts?

@Moon_AGD Reason for Carrick pick is the media narrative. Not one person has ever give Ole credit for B2B top 3 finishes. Below are the only managers to do it in last 10 years. That said I’m fully behind Carras! But Ole has the experience to impact right away

This idea that Carrick was the one behind Ole’s 3rd and 2nd placed finish is just dishonest When Rui Faria left under Jose, who stepped up? It was Carrick and McKenna. That led to Jose getting sacked Does that fit the narrative ?

Pep Guardiola retired quietly. No elite coaching résumé. No experience managing adults. Barcelona took a risk anyway. They promoted him from Barcelona B. Many inside the club wanted a bigger name. His first move shocked everyone. He sold Ronaldinho. He sold Deco. Two superstars. Huge personalities. People questioned everything. Too young. Too idealistic. Too obsessed with possession. Training became different. Short passes. Constant movement. Positioning without the ball mattered more than highlights. He demanded intelligence. Scanning before receiving. Knowing the next pass before the first touch. Results followed fast. La Liga. Champions League. A historic treble in his first season. Then Bayern Munich. A new country. A new language. Total control of details. Then Manchester City. Years of refinement. Records broken. Leagues dominated. Not built on motivation speeches. Built on structure. Clarity. And belief in ideas before results. You don’t need approval from everyone. You need conviction.

@UnitedStandMUFC Solksjaer. He has actually finished in the top 4 twice! Love carras but Ole is a better choice with Fletcher as assistant

Assuming it comes down to Solskjaer or Carrick, who are you taking as caretaker manager, and why? 👇 #mufc

@MrStephenHowson Modern tactical systems require modern tactical players. It is impossible to judge Ole based on the United team he had. Him finishing 2nd was an overachievement, him being expected to win the league with an imbalanced squad was stupid. Tactics is the easiest part of management

@DevilTalkMUFC Look at the team he’s working with. Player for player it’s literally half of what spurs have or less. It’s unbelievable he finished 3rd and 2nd

@amugira @AdamJoseph @UtdDefence Absolutely right. I heard Solksjaer used to leave everything to Carrick and McKenna and sip a cocktail from morning sitting near the carrington pool. Even on match days he couldn’t be arsed really. He just announced a X1 and fucked off.

@AdamJoseph @UtdDefence Made it worse with some questionable signings but fought bad culture. What else would justify hiring OGS bro ? During his tenure, he left all coaching to Carrick & Mackenna . Our club needs something more than smiles .

@AdamJoseph @UtdDefence Most likely it will be Carrick. It should be Ole as the main man with what he has done at the club. But I have a feeling SJR will reject that decision given the unfair hate Solksjaer is getting in the press.

@ElMago21_ @ManUtd I have a bad feeling they are not coming back. I desperately want Ole but SJR will get involved in it, fear the incredibly unfair media hate this is getting and go with Carrick, Fletcher or RVN options.

@cmwinterburn Thanks Chris. God forbid if we hire Ole full time and only finishes 3rd and 2nd in the league. We don’t want that.

Manchester United progressing with the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as caretaker manager. Wouldn’t rule out Carrick coming back along with him. Makes sense for 2025/26 but I’d warn against falling into the same trap as last time.

And the most interesting one: “@ManUtd is my club. If there’s any capacity in which they’d use me, u never know.” My opinion: He ws evidently not talking about the managerial post (although ofcourse). He was clear that United fans must be unwavering in our support for Erik 4/4

A few interesting quotes from Ole’s onstage interview with @TilakS710 y’day at the #OleInIndia Bangalore event: “We have to keep supporting the club. We have to support Erik.” 1/4
