Dino and his team scaled @saronic faster than any defense company to date. He’s delivered hundreds of autonomous vessels to the US Navy, redefining naval autonomy, and the fastest-built big ships since WWII. Now, we’re scaling. Today we’re sharing some big news. @Saronic closed a $1.75B Series D fundraise at a $9.25B valuation, led by @kleinerperkins. Honestly, it’s a bit surreal to look back at how much has happened in such a short time. We started with a simple belief: the maritime world was being overlooked, and autonomy could change that in a big way. Since then, it’s been a lot of time on the water, building, testing, breaking things, fixing them, and doing it all over again — just trying to move fast and get better every step of the way. What makes me most proud though isn’t the milestone, it’s the team behind it. Saronic is what it is because of people who genuinely care about what we’re building and who push hard every day to do it right. That’s the part that really matters. This next chapter is about scaling up — faster builds, bigger footprints, and continuing to invest in American shipbuilding in a real way. We’ve got a lot of work ahead, and that’s the exciting part. Grateful to everyone who’s been part of this, from our team, to our investors and partners, and to our customers. Let's go!

FleetLab 1.0, our first hackathon, brought students out to our Austin headquarters to test their own code on real boats. Participants developed solutions to real-world maritime challenges across UI, navigation, and machine learning tracks, with winning teams deploying their code onto our autonomous test vessels operating live on the water. The Saronic team was impressed by the level of talent and creativity — thanks to everyone who came out to participate!

They discussed how to close the gap between innovation and operational deployment, how software-led production is changing the economics and timelines of shipbuilding, and what it will take to rebuild sustained maritime industrial capacity in the United States. As we mark 250 years of American Dynamism, it is worth remembering that maritime strength has always underpinned our national security. That’s the mental model our software team adopted in the early days of Saronic — and it shaped how we built our video streaming stack for our autonomous vessels, with Corsair today having one of the highest functioning video streaming capabilities on the water. The team didn’t try to boil the ocean. Instead, they stabilized production and invested in the right long-term architecture. The Saronic team successfully completed the hull flip of our second Marauder vessel, less than three months after the first. The hull flip is significant because it marks the completion of the ship’s primary structural build. Meanwhile, vessel three is already underway at our shipyard in Franklin, Louisiana. This pace is no accident. It reflects a deliberate approach to shipbuilding at scale — pairing world-class shipbuilding talent with advanced manufacturing and a production system designed for speed and repeatability. Scale isn’t a future goal. It’s happening now.
