@sentdefender Where is Iran firing the missiles from? Am sure gazillion satellites can see it and why is it so hard to neutralize those missile launchers or sites?

According to the Wall Street Journal, citing multiple U.S. officials, Iran has targeted the joint U.S.-UK base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean with two intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBM). According to the report, one missile failed in flight whilst the other was engaged by a U.S. destroyer utilizing an SM-3 interceptor, but a successful interception was not confirmed. None of the missiles hit the base. This is notable as Iranian long-range precision fires have not previously been publicly assessed as having the range to hit such a target as Diego Garcia, as the base is some 4,000 kilometers from Iran proper.

Nobody wants to see war escalate. Lives being lost is never something that should be promoted to be pursued. However, as a taxpaying American citizen, if Trump does pull back, I do think there needs to be a complete rethinking of how the U.S. defense system and its budget is run. Trillions of dollars in taxpayer money, advanced technology, Palantir this and that, all the chest pumping buzz words and we end up caving to a third world country with no real defense system guarding a small passage in the Middle East.

The striking thing about Chinese state intervention is that it builds capacity. Factories, ports, power grids, railways, each wave of stimulus leaves more physical output behind. Western intervention fuels consumption. It takes the form of subsidies, transfers, and asset inflation. China compounds productive power, we compound financial leverage. Theirs builds resilience, ours drains it.

👀Palantir, via CTO @ssankar, calls Jensen Huang @nvidia one of China's "useful idiots" in the pages of the Wall Street Journal. That escalated quickly. Underscores both the stakes in China and how far out of bounds @nvidia has gone.

@nvidia is a GREAT American company. And Jensen is a GREAT American entrepreneur who cares deeply about our country. This is about the CCP and what they continue to do to undermine America.

We offered China peaceful coexistence. We funded their industry, educated their children, brought them into the global economy. They murder our children with fentanyl. Sabotage our critical infrastructure. Strangle our supply chains. America has a positive sum spirit. No country did more for Chinese prosperity than America. So why has no country done more to undermine America than China? For the CCP it is not enough for China to prosper, America must fall. The Chinese have made their choice. Now we must make ours. This is how we respond to the economic warfare thrust upon us: @WSJ link👇

One of the more interesting developments in the world of deals that make you go Hmmm was $AMD Open AI Open AI is "committing" to buy roughly 100BN of chips from AMD which sounds pretty pretty good for AMD. BUT the price is hard to figure The reason is every time Open AI buys a tranche of chips they are awarded free some warrants with an essentially zero strike which become worth something if the stock hits a threshold price. If the threshold price is never hit before expiry the value of the warrants is zero and AMD sold the chips at full "retail" price. OTOH if the threshold price is hit and for the heck of it let's use the highest reported threshold of 600 per share. Then the warrants in total are worth 96BN and the chips were sold for effectively zero. Options nerds will recognize this warrant as a one touch digital and can value the warrants today based on all future outcomes. Today the warrants are worth roughly 35BN Add up all the factors and AMD sold a bunch of chips at a 35% discount to "retail price" Is that good? Up to you to decide but it's not what AMD is touting
