@brankopetric00 I would say c and then if your prediction is right, introduce according tooling e.g. k8s

New startup. You're the first infrastructure hire. CTO wants the platform ready in 3 months. Option A: Kubernetes from day one - Future-proof - Steep learning curve - Longer initial setup - Easier to scale later Option B: Simple ECS + Fargate - Faster to production - Less operational overhead - Might need migration later - AWS lock-in Option C: Just EC2 + Docker Compose - Fastest MVP - Manual scaling - Technical debt guaranteed - Cheapest short-term Team size: 4 developers (none with K8s experience) Expected growth: 10x users in 12 months Funding: Series A secured What's your recommendation?

@Lukaesch Yes I see. For me sqlite is working with trigram tokenizer. But the moment it gets more complex fts5 is just having the bare minimum.

@sascha10000 Hit a wall with SQLite FTS5 on Audioscrape because prefix wildcards only, weak fuzzy, no real substrings or facets. Switched to OpenSearch for proper Google-like search (infix *, typos, rich faceting)

If you use #sqlite with fts5 check what kind of searches you want to do. Wildcards need to be handled manually in certain aspects. And most important check the tokenizers to decide which one you want to use. Changing is not possible. #sqlite #fts5 #db

@InfiniteMansa @OunkaOnX Remembers me of the war against terror. I mean as a phrase it is totally fine but it was mostly a smokescreen to soothe the population. I include also europeans they were soothed too by this.

@OunkaOnX This is a strategy where the "drug war" is merely a convenient smokescreen for a geoeconomic siege designed to evict China from the Western Hemisphere and tighten U.S. leverage over the world’s largest oil reserves for American re-industrialization.

Bentoproxy is working end-to-end 🎉 1. The ESP32 proxy node connects automatically to orchestrator node and opens a WebSocket 2. Users can use HTTP CONNECT or SOCKS5 to tunnel their requests through the orchestrator server which redirects it through the ESP32 proxy node to the Internet 3. It’s not fast at the moment (16kB/s), but it can be optimized later. The important milestone was to proof that you can offer residential proxies using ESP32 hardware. Orchestrator and ESP32 firmware written in Rust 🦀

Ever wished your idle WiFi could earn money? I’m building BentoProxy: A residential proxy network powered by tiny ESP32 nodes. 💡 Operators: plug in a USB-C device → earn up to $3/GB shared bandwidth 💼 Users: bypass geo-blocks for APIs or apps (Bright Data-level rates) 🦀 Built in Rust + Axum, open-sourcing soon. Already dogfooding it with Audioscrape First 100 operators get an early bonus. #buildinpublic #passiveincome #rustlang #startups

In the early 1980s, West Germany's SPD-led government under Helmut Schmidt approved a 30-year plan to build a nationwide fiber-optic network for future-proof telecom. When CDU's Helmut Kohl took power in 1982, he halted it, prioritizing cheaper coaxial cables for cable TV expansion amid budget constraints and lower perceived internet demand. This choice left Germany reliant on aging copper infrastructure, contributing to its current struggles with slow broadband compared to fiber-advanced peers like South Korea.

I came to Germany in 2016 to start my PhD. Germany then was a hotbed of scientific and engineering activity. And now in a span of 9 years I have had the incredible opportunity to witness a first world country on the cusp of becoming a great superpower systematically decimate itself through a series of bad policies each aimed at neutering itself further. There is a common thread between all of these self neutering policies: they were all pushed by a few wealthy urban millennials who wanted to feel morally superior and wanted a pat on the back for being a “good person”. It is crazy how the narcissism of a select few can destroy an entire country. On some level I feel bad for hardworking ambitious Germans especially those who put in the hard work to build the country watching it all being ruined by a bunch of virtue signaling entitled fucks.
