@ScottAAitchison and @_Colin_Reynolds nail it here! We need to bring affordability into the National Building Codes
Scott Aitchison@ScottAAitchison
Should the National Building Code be decided by the companies that make products and their lobbyists?

@tomfgoodwin You don’t think I know how people shop?!?
🤨
English

I’m convinced these people have no idea how people actually shop and how the internet will actually evolve if bots are everywhere.
For example how every credit card company will freak out and change Charge backs
Harley Finkelstein@harleyf
Agentic shopping is merit-based. No commissions. No bias toward big box. It shows you what you'll actually like. Not what paid to be there. This is how smaller businesses get discovered. It’s already happening.

It's not actually difficult.
As an elected official, including as Premier, I never did land acknowledgments, unless speaking on a reserve, or to an indigenous ceremony / event. In those cases, I would simply say "thank-you for welcoming me to the x community," or "it's great to be here in the Treaty y area," etc.. In other words, basic courtesy, not an elaborate ritual of historical revisionism and humiliation.
The only criticism of my approach came from manufactured media outrage stories. I never met an indigenous leader or person in Alberta who objected to my approach.
This is much more about progressive virtue signalling than actual reconciliation. Formulaic secular liturgies do nothing to improve the lives of indigenous people.

MrBeast reveals the "Purple Cow" rule he uses to get 200 million views per video
"If you're driving down the road and you see a cow, you' wont look. But if there's a purple cow, you're going to look four times"
"If you're scrolling videos and it's something you've seen before, that's a cow. But putting a bunker underground with two people living in it, that's a purple cow on social media"

@RobShaw_BC My son is First Nation, this kind of stuff enflames division and racism.

@BenWoodfinden sorry that’s &@$*ed up British Columbia deserves a competent conservative government
English

Restricting access to public land based on someone's ancestry is insanity, and yet in British Columbia that's exactly what's happening.

BC Parks says Joffre Lakes Provincial Park near Pemberton will close to non-Indigenous people from June 20-27, and Sept. 8-30 to allow First Nations to practice cultural and conservation traditions. Has been policy for several years. But could be contentious in current climate.
