Starbucks has a free “Grounds for Your Garden” program
They package used coffee grounds and give them away for free to customers for gardening and composting
Any customer can ask and get these grounds for free for their gardens
Starbucks does this because coffee grounds are rich in nitrogen and make good compost and soil amendment
And it’s true, I’ve looked into the benefits
Used coffee grounds contain nitrogen and smaller amounts of phosphorus, potassium, and micronutrients like magnesium, copper, calcium, iron, and zinc
They act as a slow-release fertilizer: Nitrogen becomes available gradually as microbes break them down, supporting leafy growth without the burn risk of synthetic fertilizers
Grounds increase the soil’s ability to hold moisture and still allowing excess water to drain
This is a great program. Call your local Starbucks and go get them so they aren’t wasted

@GPAIndiana I make my "French Vanilla" Creamer: 1 can evaporated milk, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract. Combine ingredients in blender. Keep in refrigerator.

Piece of advice: if you are a parent, watch out what the Finns are doing and copy them. It's one of the few countries that pays closer attention to their youth. They observe, study, and adjust all the time!
For example, they are now gradually reversing their decade-long, tech-heavy education model to combat declining cognitive performance and severe classroom distractions. Schools are scaling back on devices in favor of printed textbooks, handwriting instruction, and pen-and-paper assignments.

Andrew Jackson’s 1829 inauguration was pure chaos.
After his swearing-in, ~20,000 rowdy supporters flooded the White House for the traditional public reception. The “common man” showed up in force — and things got wild.
The crowd turned into a mob. Jackson got pinned against a wall and had to be rescued by security. People stood on expensive chairs and sofas in muddy boots, broke fine china, and spilled punch everywhere.
To save the mansion, staff put giant tubs of whiskey-laced punch and ice cream out on the lawn. The guests poured outside like it was Black Friday.
