I'm center af. I lean left, then lean right, kind of like riding a long and winding road. That to say: I share and like things that interest me. I question nearly everything. I'm curious af, too. So, if you see something here you don't agree with, just know, I may not either, but, I thought it interesting enough to check out. Varying viewpoints is the nature of humanity. And I love humanity, for better, or worse. "Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world"--Grateful Dead ❤️⚡️💙

Starbucks has a free “Grounds for Your Garden” program They package used coffee grounds and give them away for free to customers for gardening and composting Any customer can ask and get these grounds for free for their gardens Starbucks does this because coffee grounds are rich in nitrogen and make good compost and soil amendment And it’s true, I’ve looked into the benefits Used coffee grounds contain nitrogen and smaller amounts of phosphorus, potassium, and micronutrients like magnesium, copper, calcium, iron, and zinc They act as a slow-release fertilizer: Nitrogen becomes available gradually as microbes break them down, supporting leafy growth without the burn risk of synthetic fertilizers Grounds increase the soil’s ability to hold moisture and still allowing excess water to drain This is a great program. Call your local Starbucks and go get them so they aren’t wasted

☀️ IN 1914, THIS BOOK ALREADY EXPLAINED HOW TO LIVE 150 YEARS… BY DRINKING DISTILLED WATER! 😱❗ 🚨It’s called Vitalogy — a health encyclopedia published in 1914. 🤯In its pages, the authors (two doctors) claim that the human body can live well beyond 100 years if we eliminate the mineral deposits that accumulate in the organs. According to them: Bones could last 4000 years Lungs 1500 years Skin 1000 years The main cause of diseases and premature death? Deposits of “animal soil” and insoluble minerals that build up in the heart, liver, kidneys, and arteries… just like limescale in a kettle. Their remedy? Drink distilled water daily. They explain that distilled water has the power to gradually absorb these deposits and eliminate them from the body. And then… the pharmaceutical industry came along. With its drugs, its “essential minerals,” its mineral-enriched waters, and its lifetime supplements. Coincidence or strategy? A 1914 book already knew that pure water could deeply cleanse the body. Today, we’re told that distilled water is “dangerous” and that we must constantly consume minerals. Who really benefits from keeping us sick and dependent?

Piece of advice: if you are a parent, watch out what the Finns are doing and copy them. It's one of the few countries that pays closer attention to their youth. They observe, study, and adjust all the time! For example, they are now gradually reversing their decade-long, tech-heavy education model to combat declining cognitive performance and severe classroom distractions. Schools are scaling back on devices in favor of printed textbooks, handwriting instruction, and pen-and-paper assignments.

In low trust environments, be polite and cordial, yet brief. Minimise attack surface: share little personal information. Ignore provocations and be unprovocative. Be unopinionated. Express uncertainty when pressed. Do not emote. Avoid attachments. You are there, but not present.

The internet used to be full of websites; there were millions of them and you could browse for hours and come away smarter rather than dumber. Now there are four sites and they've made half the population illiterate. We've destroyed a wonderful thing, and it has destroyed us.

I can't properly describe to anyone under the age of 30 just how cool the Internet was before Amazon, Google, Meta, and Apple turned it all into a walled garden of garbage and commerce.

Andrew Jackson’s 1829 inauguration was pure chaos. After his swearing-in, ~20,000 rowdy supporters flooded the White House for the traditional public reception. The “common man” showed up in force — and things got wild. The crowd turned into a mob. Jackson got pinned against a wall and had to be rescued by security. People stood on expensive chairs and sofas in muddy boots, broke fine china, and spilled punch everywhere. To save the mansion, staff put giant tubs of whiskey-laced punch and ice cream out on the lawn. The guests poured outside like it was Black Friday.
