was talking to some ppl in the PN discord the other day about why i think tokens go up. figured i would share more broadly bec it sparked a good convo. I think there are 5 underlying reasons tokens may go up: 1. Cult formation (PENGU, BTC) 2. Narrative formation ('brand coin' - REKT) 3. Illegal financial engineering (too many to name) 4. Legal financial engineering (anything with a DAT) 5. Buybacks (HYPE) Notice that utility is not on the list. If i've learned one thing, its that 'utility' is the biggest meme of them all. agree disagree?

Hot take! The difference between a whale and non whale in a web 3 game is the whale doesn’t have time to play and wants to invest in something that can give them returns for their capital they invested! A non whale invests their time and expects returns to be reflected by the time they spent in the game! With this being said which kind of person would you rather have in your community? The whale who can provide lots of capital towards the game Or The non whale who spends lots of time in your game? Both have positive and negative traits but what one would you value more if you had to? Side note a very few rare cases there are whales who both inject lots of capital and put in the hours! (These whales are the ideal people on a perfect world)

@TheGodMurdoch To build a game with longevity, people need to make money, but also people need to have fun... Whales that prop up FP and pump tokens isn't sustainable... they're just there to make $$ And if people then grind the game to make money then it's not really a game, it's just a job

@satoshei Which games are people grinding in web 3 that are fun that isn’t having its floor price or token held up by a whale ? And in that game do the grinders even make money if the token is 0 and FP is 0 ?

@TheGodMurdoch lots of people play games where the token is non existent 🤣 But if you're saying people will only grind a web3 game if whales prop up the price? If it's an enjoyable game ppl will grind regardless... So i'd rather the latter because it means i've made a good game

@satoshei Whales support the token and FP of like every collection without them both would be 0 and then who is gonna play the game if token is 0 and FP is 0 that would meaning chances of earning is 0 as well

I’m legit spending 50$ a day on in game items to compete with the other like 100 people fighting for the top spots! I want to thank the farmers who keep selling me items! Crazy that people can legit make 50$ a day selling in game items to others just for a competition!
