See I also know that Angika language is similar to Maithili.. but the sweetness which is in Maithili completely changed in angika..And in our country, every dialect changes a little. It is definitely that its origin is the same but the way of speaking changes.

My theory is this - when your food culture is same as Muslims, how does it really matter being a Hindu. If Brahmins are meat eaters, they don't mind being muslim Brahmins. Meat eating will make one indifferent or actively collaborate with Tamasik people.

The wide range of predictions on WB is truly amazing. But I will never ever understand why a sizeable section of WB hindus continue to vote for TMC even after one of Mamta's most powerful ministers, Firhad has openly stated that his objective is to have Muslims as the majority in the state first, and then the country later. Why are Bengali Hindus taking this so passively. I don't think any Muslim politician in any other state - even in the uber-secular Kerala and TN - could have gotten away with an outrageous statement like this. Why is Bengali polity so submissive towards islamism?

Meat-selling in Mauryan era, particularly in the times of Chandragupta was a legitimate business. Meat-shops (Pakvamamsikah), shops of cooked rice (Audanikah), were typically located in the southern part of the city. There were regulations related to the sale of meat: 1) Only fresh meat was sold; 2) 'Mṛgapaśu' or flesh of boneless meat of beasts were to be sold; 3) Meat of animals slaughtered outside designated slaughter-houses were barred from selling; 4) Sale of rotten or swollen meat was prohibited; 5) Flesh of animals which died naturally are not to be sold; If any of the above laws were broken, the shopkeeper had to pay a fine of 8 panas and certain cases death penalty was imposed. If there is any deficit via use of false weights, the shopkeeper had to pay 8 times the price of the meat. Slaughter of cattle like cows, calves was prohibited. Taxes gained was for 1/6th of beasts of prey, 1/10th or more of fish/birds/deer. One-sixth of all live animals captured, must be released into protected forests.
