Does anyone remember anything like this happening between 2007 - 2018?
Were there any national security skirmishes or squabbles?
I don't recall any in my time in Freetown up until I left in 2011 and even nothing at scale after.
I’m asking because I'm trying to understand the underlying causes. What has changed since 2018 about the people or in the people? Salone man way we kin say able bia en manage en dis en day. How are we here?
We need to reflect on this so we can come back from the brink (and we can).
Do we need another reconciliation commission? Where is this coming from? Is it just power hungry political elites? O refuse to believe it's just high cost of living, our people been poor? What’s going on? Whatever it is, e no day born fine pikin. We need to course correct so this state we are in isn't normalized. A peace march? What?

Here is the Minister of Works and Public Assets, Dr. Dennis Sandy riding a bicycle to work.
Possibly, this could inspire @PresidentBio to get a bicycle for everyone in his very youthful cabinet.
Imagine how much we could save to even pay the US$40 million debt to @karpowership

Following my appointment as Minster of Transport and Aviation of Sierra Leone by H.E. @PresidentBio, I am pleased to inform that I am leading the delegation of Sierra Leone to the 28th session meeting of the Assembly of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) in Kingston, Jamaica from 24 to 28 July.
As we go through the transition, I am accompanied as Alternate by Ambassador @MichaelKanuSL, Deputy Permanent of Sierra Leone to the UN for Legal Affairs, and Permanent Representative (designate). Ambassador Kanu is in familiar ground having recently attended the meeting of the Legal and Technical Commission of the ISA, and also, the Part II meeting of the Council of the Authority, where he led the Sierra Leone delegation and represented the African Group as Lead in the Informal Working Group negotiating the Inspection, Compliance and Enforcement part of the “Mining Code”.
The Assembly will consider very important items, including the annual report of the Secretary-General; the work of the Council during this 28thsession; a supplementary budget for the financial period 2023–2024; the draft strategic plan of the Authority for the five-year period 2024–2028; and possibly the roadmap to complete the exploitation regulations - “Mining Code”.
