Goes back to what folks at @sbrwa @THEPOINTCDC @_ympj and local residents asked for - reducing the width Sheridan to give more space back to the community. It's not a meaningful improvement to remove elevated highway and add crossings to access the riverfront.

Residents of the South Bronx, Williamsburg, and the Lower East Side have all proposed smart alternatives to highway business-as-usual; New York City & New York State need to follow their lead. @sbrwa

That’s accurate - it’s actually costing less than $98 million because the State refused to reduce lanes or change the footprint.

@StvBurns @wcbs880 @sbrwa @angtovar This is a good first step in reconnecting with the waterfront and opening up the potential for more parkland in an area desperate for green space; the concern is that it's still too much roadway for the needs and access to Hunts Point.
