This was from last night’s game. Wren Senior Cooper Thomas hits a double to right center scoring the only run of the game. This was a pitching duel between Wren’s LHP Owen Austin (11 ks) and West Oak’s RHP Kurt Rogers (8 ks).

Here’s the double.

Owen Austin Wren ‘22 OF/1B/LHP continues to swing a hot bat finding the gaps. This is his triple. He later doubled.

LHP Jacob McGovern FR has good 3/4 arm angle. Shows good velocity for a Freshman and can throw the curveball anytime in the count. Needless to say a very promising young LHP.

Videos of a kid throwing off a portable mound and a kid taking swings indoors do not tell the whole story.

@rcandy24 The bigger issue is kids being punished for missing summer football workouts when the kids are traveling playing baseball. As you guys well know summer baseball at the high school level does require more travel unless you live in big market. I.E.Atlanta.

This is not passing judgement but just a serious question worth consideration. If we supposedly want kids to play multiple sports and not specialize etc why are we offering “baseball class” in HS in place of regular PE activities? Doesn’t that seem to be hypocritical?
