I am not a developer but outside looking in, it seems like an obnoxiously large part of the profession involves unfucking IDE issues, file conflicts, weird build issues, obscure third party integrations, badly documented API crap, etc... moreso than actually writing code.

I asked the AI: The statement that “the government covers 30% of the salary for companies if they hire a foreigner over a Canadian citizen” in Canada is misinformation. There is no federal Canadian program that covers 30% of a worker’s salary solely because they are a foreign hire instead of a Canadian, nor is there a standard 30% wage subsidy preference for foreigners over citizens.
