Update: I've started a new postdoc in antibiotic resistance modelling at AUMC so a bit of a change in scenery for me! I will still be available for root and OpenSimRoot related inquiries but my response times will be a bit longer.

Massive wealth redistribution would not only help everyone at the bottom greatly and address all the problems associated with economic inequality (crime, social unrest, breakdown of solidarity) but also put a dent in reducing our emissions!

We are preparing the code for publication so everyone can use OpenSimRoot with the photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, canopy temperature, leaf gas exchange and drought response models we have added.

This also means that the code for simulating root loss with OpenSimRoot is now available to everyone at gitlab.com/rootmodels/Ope… Please note that the most recent OSR updates still need to be integrated, this will happen over the next few weeks.

@tterrill @dgouldin Actual bike infrastructure means that you separate the cyclists and cars and think about road design. Painting a bike lane on a road used by cars is just creating a designed space to sacrifice cyclists to the automobiles.

Too many able-bodied adult men look at bike infrastructure and think "this looks fine, I can use this" without considering how well it would work for an 8 year old, an 80 year old, a distracted parent on a cargo bike, a wheelchair user, etc etc.

@dgouldin I can't verify ages from pictures but think all of your examples are represented in these pictures from the Netherlands. Good cycling infrastructure benefits everyone: Fewer traffic deaths, better health, higher quality of life, more livable cities, better for the climate.
