Da hilft auch kein „just sayin“.

@StayGadot @JeremyCliffe I wonder what those troops are the US wants to withdraw, the US africa command maybe? Aside from one Striker brigade there are no US fightings troops in Germany.

@JeremyCliffe Option b is unrealistic given the economic realities facing W Europe. For decades, W European nations have starved their militaries in favor of lavish social welfare spending that no elected politician will dare slash. Thus Europe will be very vulnerable in event of US withdrawal

There are two ways Germany could take the news that US is pulling 5k of its 37k DE-based troops: a) Panic, flee back to the old protector, flatter Trump in the hope of reprieve b) Accept and advance: Europeanise 🇩🇪's huge defence investment package, embrace strategic autonomy
Jacqui Heinrich@JacquiHeinrich

Pentagon confirms US withdrawing 5k troops from Germany Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell tells FOX: “The Secretary of War has ordered the withdrawal of approximately 5,000 troops from Germany. This decision follows a thorough review of the Department’s force posture in Europe and is in recognition of theater requirements and conditions on the ground. We expect the withdrawal to be completed over the next six to twelve months.”

@michaeldweiss Will they give up their two months of government-paid vacation to fund this military build up? Also, given that Europe is all "net zero" and "no nuke" ... where are they going to get the energy to power their reformation? Europe is dead. And fully Islamized.

@PaulNiland Why? Why is protecting Germany in our best interest? Why is taking a hostile stance against Russia in the USA's interest? We have never been in a hot war with Russia. We have been in 2 costly wars with Germany. Both had Russia as our ally.

@PaulNiland You don’t think your little king Z would love to have 20k US troops in Poland right next to Ukraine? 🤡 US have 40k in Germany, why not spread them out instead of having them all in 1 location?

@schulu91 @PaulNiland Did you read your post! Same thing! Deterrent to Russia. The purpose has not changed. Everything for NATO is about Russia. They are always crying to the U.S. saying that Putin wants to take over Europe.

Something a lot of people don't see. Trump thinks US troops in Germany are there to protect Germany. They're not. They're there because the US needs the bases to be able to carry out US operations beyond the north American continent. Trump doesn't understand this basic fact.
Rep. Don Bacon 🇺🇸✈️🏍️⭐️🎖️@RepDonBacon

The continued attacks on NATO allies are counterproductive. The comments hurt Americans. I commanded the huge Ramstein AB in Germany. The two big airfields in Germany give us great access in three continents. We are shooting ourselves in our own feet.

@schulu91 @Ander_Bruckes I agree that the decision is theirs to make, and that is precisely why Merz should not have been so explicit. Ukraine may be willing to give up on the military recapture of the lost lands, but it will certainly not recognise them as Russian. And on this point, we must stand firm.

@pappaconda12 @Ander_Bruckes This was a discussion with school kids, not an official statement infront of the parliament. I dont think that this statement does any harm to Ukraine. This entire war is unacceptable, but if the russian state doesnt collapse, i dont see Ukraine winning back all of its territory

@pappaconda12 @Ander_Bruckes No that one is accurate. But as you can see there he is not talking about Ukraine having to accept territorial loss to get EU membership, but that Ukraine should have a credible path to membership so Selensky can "sell" territorial losses in a referendum.

Invece no.

Anna@AnnaDeMilanese

@aioli8518 @NAFOvoyager This post is a gros misrepresentation on what Merz actually said. He said Ukraine needs a credible path to EU acession in order for Selensky to win a referendum over a hypothetical peace deal that admits territorial losses.
