I’ve been told since this incident occurred that I was over-exaggerating, have mental illness, and should be ignored. Meanwhile, I’m over here with a DOCTOR’S mandate and a rescue inhaler just to get through the day. The lab results finally came back and it’s a Category 3 biohazard (as I already knew). Fecal coliforms on my medical gear and a total loss of my home. Turns out I wasn’t being difficult. I was being observant. I was researching. I was advocating for my life and the lives of every tenant in the world. Trusting my intuition was the best investment I ever made. Science doesn't have an opinion, nor does it care about feelings. Everything I owned is gone, but I saved myself. Never let anyone talk you out of your own physical safety.

I don’t think people know what the line is anymore

I am writing this from the Emergency Room during my 3rd admission for these symptoms. Because I have a spinal cord injury and utilize life-sustaining catheterization (catheters), the Category 3 contamination in my home resulted in a UTI that nearly progressed to sepsis (a condition that can become fatal within a 7 to 14-hour window). Despite my two previous visits I’m only being taken seriously now because I now have scientific evidence that proves my home is s biohazard. This data bridged the gap between a “subjective” complaint and a clinical emergency. In the six years I’ve been using catheters, I have maintained a PERFECT health record with zero infections. My baseline is total health. The only variable that has changed is my exposure to a documented biohazard that management failed to remediate. I warned them about this EXACT thing an email sent on February 24th at 1:29PM (attached). They were also already in receipt of my Doctor’s Mandate stating my home was a health risk. This hospitalization is the direct, biological consequence of that negligence. (1/2)
