@NECLsoftball@FastpitchWire@fastpitchunite@NFCAorg@ExtraInningSB@ACLcollegiate FWIW: Lots of non-D1 college players try to get internships over the summer with softball as their #2 priority. You don’t know where you can play until you know where that internship is. Your website also has zero indication about time commitment to play vs 9 to 5 summer job.
Register today to be a part of something special coming to Boston this summer!
Calling all collegiate softball players, any division, come to the inaugural summer collegiate season literally blocks away from Fenway Park in downtown Boston!

@AlleyLane5@HD_DirtKing D3 means academic scholarships only - No athletic-linked scholarships. That said, depending on the “community” that contributed, how is this any different than getting an academic scholarship from Rotary? Most likely the issue is that he didn’t report the scholarship to school.
The NCAA is a joke. It’s the Wild West at the D1 level, but they actually enforce outdated rules at the D3 level.
D3 Augsburg XC/track athlete Mohammed Bati has been ruled ineligible by the NCAA for accepting $6000 from the community to help him stay enrolled in school. He had been working nearly full time hours (overnight at a hospital) to pay his tuition.
Bati posted the following on his Strava +

@WoydeRick@TweetsbyCoachP Small schools that “few kids actually want to attend”? Um… MIT is D3 for example. Might want to go check that list of high academic D3’s. Plus the NJAC schools here in NJ are pretty solid both academically and athletically and are state schools (not private) for less tuition.
@TweetsbyCoachP Too bad D3 is so expensive. They are very small schools and few kids actually want to attend these schools as a result. Calling many of them campuses is a stretch. Lots of great athletes are choosing to quit baseball instead. Basically viewed by kids as like playing a club sport.
@alixonmartinez2@dabentley82 Again, you implied that there is some D3-wide conspiracy to mislead. Stop generalizing like all D3’s do it. Yes, D3 private school costs are high—Not disputing. But every D3 softball coach we talked to said to use the school financial aid calculator. We were not ignorant/misled.
@scm74@dabentley82 All I’m saying… be honest to kids… it’s not easy to have 100-150k plus in debt after 4 years.. just to say that you played D3 baseball and faced guys throwing 82 mph.. if you wanna do that there are cheaper options… that’s all I’m
Saying. Don’t lie
D3 schools… what are you offering??
Why are there players saying.. “I received an OFFER”
How?? Can you offer Athletic scholarship? Please, educate me?
What are you offering players? A spot on your team? Then, that’s not an offer. That’s called a WALK-ON
Just saying…
@dabentley82@alixonmartinez2 Agreed - Or players that were supposedly tricked, come forward. Acknowledge if you should have known better and just misunderstood coach’s statements or if coaches legit lied. If they lied report to NCAA.
