It has been a rough few of years for Los Angeles, but Nithya Raman has been consistently clear-eyed and solutions-oriented about the city's problems. Combine that with an understanding of government needed to effectuate change and I think she is an extremely strong candidate.

Last week, we hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Haynes Street Greenway Project along with 4 incredible speakers: ⭐ Councilmember @bobblumenfield ⭐ @lacitysan Principal Civil Engineer Michael Scaduto ⭐ Bureau of Engineering Chief Dep. City Engineer Deborah Weintraub ⭐ Community Member Bob Akre The Haynes Street Greenway is a Measure W municipal project, which began construction in March 2024. The project is located on a City-owned 5,000-square-foot parcel at 19941 Haynes Street in #WoodlandHills, adjacent to the #LARiver. In response to community concerns about the vacant property being an eyesore, LASAN initiated two community workshops to gather feedback on how the parcel could be reimagined. Residents shared their desire for a green, safe, and accessible space. Concepts discussed included walking paths, native landscaping, and decorative gates. @CohenSite I will let @orangutanagram or @scottforla share more abt the details of this LA motion. Scott was present at the hearing. When Stephen met w/ICC for a national-level code convo, he took a more incrementalist/ conservative approach w/4 flrs.

I’ve chosen to see this as a win. In a city that has said no to housing for decades, a third of the council voted to expand where we can build housing in Los Angeles, and *that* is a small but powerful win.

With traffic volumes down because of Pride, people are showing how wide sidewalks should be on La Cienega Blvd. @WeHoCity: listen to folks voting with their feet and make this boulevard a human place rather than a traffic sewer.
