Really important to recognise that in the UK of the 21st Century each of the four countries can be fiercely patriotic in all sorts of ways e.g. culture and sport and still be content in the UK. For many it has always been that way and seems perfectly normal.

Moving thousands of miles to another country, and expecting that country to provide food, shelter, healthcare and education whilst offering nothing in return is contemptible behaviour. Similarly, those migrating to a post-Enlightenment civilization and insisting that your Dark Age belief system needs representation in parliament are just theocratic colonisers. We evolved beyond this centuries ago. Too many are behind on this, because they're petrified of being called hateful.
