Great adds - thank you for (again) expanding our horizons 🤗 Agree on X “waking up” One simple aesthetic item: I use X mostly on my phone, which is not great for me for extended, substantive engagement. I use LI mostly from a full screen browser, which makes it easier to read and digest more. Maybe I need to rethink my X usage.

Other thoughts re: ‘social community’ for tech discussions 1) I see ‘twitter’ / X waking back up; I’ve recently invested more time engaging here, regardless, content seems more relevant now. + some of the ‘kids’ on here stopped ranting; convos are shifting towards tech + biz relevance [appreciative] 2) There are some active users on LI having fab tech & architecture convos + teaching me cool things BUT I’d prefer to see that type of discussion here + more likely to engage. 🤓❤️ - @adamhjk - @ab415 - @jbeda - @cmcluck - @adrianco - @badnima - @jmckenty - @monadic - @sramji ++ missing a bunch

have to log into LinkedIn to post my blog on "AI Hype to AI ROI"... just really finding no joy in using that site at all lately. it's turned into a barrier for high quality business content, feels like FB but for corp, + there's the weird personalization of things you might say f2f, zoom or phone, but perhaps not online (ie, X passed away, Y had a new baby) and I really don't know what to do with that information on a site meant for career growth & networking (as an introverted extrovert it's slightly terrifying; I lean into their emojis ALOT)

So, I am back down to 1x speed. I started a month or so ago, and it feels like a little bit of detox. And I think I'm regaining some capacity for patience and attention. Even my breathing feels better. Now I need to work to get back to 1x speed in the rest of life. Stay tuned for that. I truly don't know who needs to hear this. I love podcasts. They are my primary mode to take in new information. I love them so much that I typically listen to them at 1.25 to 1.5 times normal speed. "Efficiency", I told myself. It's a way to take in more of the goodness. I've done this for 4-5 years, maybe longer. The only pods where I couldn't do this were any episode with @pmarca. (1/3)

However, I noticed something in late 2025: I found myself becoming more and more impatient in conversations. Real life, face to face, where feedback is provided and received in real time. Seeing the impact at home with my wife was a real warning. She knows when I'm forcing something, losing attention, or getting antsy. No hiding any of it from her (and it is awesome to be known by her so well). (2/3)
