Don’t be the reason someone develops trust issues. It’s bigger than you and them, it will negatively impact more people than you can imagine. Just be truthful and kind.

I am amazed by how many people are incapable of answering a “yes” or “no” question with “yes” or “no”.

@ministryoftest That’s a trick question. A bug is not a bug just because it was submitted as one.

“That’s just the way I am” is a missed opportunity for growth. Personality is not your destiny. It’s your tendency. No one is limited to a single way of thinking, feeling, or acting. Who you become is not about the traits you have. It's what you decide to do with them.

The Feynman Technique To learn anything: Step 1: Identify a topic Step 2: Try to explain it to a 5-year-old Step 3: Study to fill in knowledge gaps Step 4: Organize, convey, and review True genius is the ability to simplify, not complicate. Simple is beautiful.

Don’t allow mentally ill people to ascend into positions of power. Why?! Because the mental health of everyone below them will have to suffer immensely.

@chrishlad I heard someone answer the question “what’s the meaning of life” with “death”. Reasoning that without it there would be no compulsion to do anything. Totally changed my view (and fear) of death and helped me focus on doing and valuing life . .

@ministryoftest I think we need measurable standards. Some form of fixed, generic metrics. The industry is so vast and people’s understanding of things varies so much, that it’s impossible to speak the same language most of the times.

People who’s been in multiple big companies: what are the patterns / problems repeated in almost all of them? Thinking about something like: prioritisation issues, missing alignment etc.
