Enjoy how it feels to swing a golf club. Avoid suffering by grasping this fact — you’re in a relationship with the world’s hardest game. Relish your best swings and your best putts. Be a great playing partner — whether you’re playing great or playing poorly. And in your desire to get better, understand what you truly seek is a deeper connection with a feeling — the joy at the heart of play. Like Woods and Sorenstam and all the greats, you’re in love with that feeling because you’re born to be a golfer. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt your potential is unfolding as it should. Above all, be at peace with your game, no matter your handicap. @scratchattitude My best is 7 in a round, which I've done twice. In one of those rounds I also made 7 bogeys. Can't even imagine birdieing 2/3 of the holes.

12 birdies in a round! Be honest, how long would it take you to make 12 birdies? For me, it'd be right around 12 rounds based on my season averages.

My buddy Red. He invited me to play golf at his home in Winnipeg, and I went out and had a lot of fun. Then and there, I decided to make the game my hobby. I knew the names of a few golf pros simply because I’m a sports fan, but it was the game itself that both surprised and attracted me.

Which golfer made you fall in love with the game?

I love this. A guy I’ve known for 25 years shot his first under par round of golf today. 1 under 71. At 69 years old. He’s been playing his whole life, and after all these years, the game gave him another moment he’ll never forget. Greatest game there is!

Stop trying to break 80. For years, whenever i had a “good round” going, I’d start thinking about what i needed to shoot on the back nine to hit that magic number 79. Shot 76 one day when I wasn’t aware of my score until i added it up. No Jedi mind technique required … just the decision to put away the scorecard and do the math on the 19th hole.
