This could be luck, but it's also that we engineered our luck: we don't rely on many external services, so we reduce the probability of cascading failures. In particular, we don't use microservices.

AWS us-east-1 went down, and Screenshotbot is mainly based in us-east-1 (except for some Enterprise users hosted in eu-west-2). But we didn't see any downtime, at least as far as our monitoring tells us.
