We’re partnering with the Tech Mahindra (@tech_mahindra) group to support an innovative AI-driven platform that increases access to finance for education. Yesterday at the World Economic Forum (@wef) Annual Meeting in Davos, SC Ventures (@scventuresDNA), our fintech investment and ventures arm, signed a new partnership agreement with Yabx Technologies (@Tech_Yabx), part of Tech Mahindra group (@tech_mahindra), to jointly invest in a new purpose-driven lending platform. Furaha, which is based in the UAE and has been incubated by SC Ventures, is designed to help parents and schools by creating an ecosystem of data for credit scoring, enabling commercial banks to channel affordable credit towards education financing. Initially launching in Uganda, it plans to expand to other markets across Africa in the future. SC Ventures has invested USD7 million, while Yabx has provided access to an AI-driven platform with alternate lending capabilities, resulting in a combined investment equivalent of USD10 million.
