USSD is expanding its yield opportunities on Sonic and I went to check the data. I have been following USSD closely since its launch as part of my ongoing research into stablecoins built on @Fraxfinance's infrastructure. Two days after launch it hit a $2M market cap, which was an early signal that frxUSD was becoming something beyond just a stablecoin. Its infrastructure was becoming a launchpad for other stablecoins to build on. Recently I came across @ShadowOnSonic, Sonic's liquidity DEX, and decided to check what yield opportunities currently exist for USSD holders. What I found is promising for something this early. The USSD/USDC pool is the strongest performing pool right now with $103K in TVL. The USSD/S pool offers flexible range types depending on your risk appetite, from Passive at 17% APR all the way up to an Insane range sitting at 2000% APR. I will be honest, that ceiling number raises more questions than it answers and I would treat it with serious caution. The more grounded ranges are where the real opportunity sits for anyone approaching this sensibly. The epoch rewards structure also tells you something important. The incentives are still thin, which means this is genuinely early. More exposure and targeted liquidity incentives will be needed before user adoption picks up meaningfully. One thing worth flagging is the current UI on Shadow. It could use some polish. A cleaner interface would go a long way toward encouraging more users to engage with these pools, and that is a gap the team should prioritize. But overall, seeing @SonicEcosystem and USSD find its footing across the stablecoin market this early into its life is a good sign. The infrastructure underneath it is solid. The yield opportunities are beginning to open up. This one is worth watching as liquidity deepens.
