here is the most uncomfortable thing anyone in trading education will ever tell you technical analysis and price action are 50/50 at best and the reason is pure psychology when a pattern forms on a chart, every trader looking at that chart sees the same thing, they all learned the same textbooks, the same youtube videos, the same courses, so when a head and shoulders forms or a breakout prints, thousands of people are making the same trade at the same time and the market knows exactly where they all put their stops the pattern doesn't predict the future, it just tells you where the crowd is positioned and once you understand that, you realize the pattern is not the edge, knowing where the crowd is wrong is the edge think about it this way, if a pattern worked reliably every single time, every trader would use it and the moment every trader uses it, it stops working because the market will always move against the most crowded trade this is why you can look at any chart and make a convincing case for long and short at the same time, because the price action is designed to look good in both directions so that both sides get in and then one side gets wiped out to fund the real move technical analysis doesn't give you an edge... it makes you predictable and predictable traders are just liquidity waiting to be collected

What if I told you that a complete beginner with zero knowledge of technical analysis could be more profitable than someone who spent 3 years studying smart money concepts. Sounds ridiculous, but follow the math for a second. All you can do in trading is buy or sell, that's a coin flip, 50/50. Now set a stop loss at 1R and a take profit at 3R. Even if you're wrong half the time, your winners are 3 times bigger than your losers. You don't need a single indicator on your chart to make that work. You just need to press the button, close your laptop, and come back later. Now here's where it gets interesting... Most beginners don't do this, instead they spend 6 months memorizing premium and discount zones, PD arrays, order blocks, breaker blocks, fair value gaps, liquidity sweeps, and whatever new term dropped this week. They fill their chart with so much noise that a simple buy or sell decision becomes a 45 minute analysis session where they end up too scared to enter or they enter late and get stopped out. The analysis didn't help them, it paralyzed them. Here's the aha moment that changed everything for me. The only thing that determines whether you're profitable over time is the size of your winners versus the size of your losers. That's risk management and that's the whole game. If you keep your losses small and let your winners run, you will be profitable even if your win rate is below 50%. No PD array required. The trading education industry doesn't want you to hear this because if you realized that sound risk management on a simple setup is all you actually need, you would stop buying courses, stop watching 4 hour YouTube breakdowns, and stop chasing the next model that promises to decode the algorithm. The simplicity is the edge. The discipline to trust it is the skill. Everything else is entertainment disguised as education.

FTMO 1-step is actually better. FTMO 10% profit target with 10% drawdown is 100% True Return required to pass. E8 One 6% profit target with 4% drawdown is 150% True Return required to pass. Profit target only matters in context of maximum drawdown.

Looking at the payout page on Topstep and knowing you cannot request the payouts because they called you to live 1 hour before you could request them is the worst feeling in the world I should've been able to request 40k in payouts as 5th and 6th payouts (the before-live payout) and then given a 150k live account, but I'm getting no payouts and only a 10k live account 2 months of trading are gone, and I don't know what to do next

I totally get that @Topstep want's to stop the prop ROI game. I don't fault @MichaelPatak for making decisions to do so. However the gaslighting of "be a better trader" and all of that BS is only alienating the trading community. Saying their rating is lower on TrustPilot than EVERYONE else "CuZ aFfILiAtEs" is completely out of touch. Your rating tanked because your platform became wholly unreliable and your customer service takes every opportunity to stick it to your traders. It is without a doubt the slowest customer service in the industry and for a company that is opening a brokerage would dissuade any sensible person from trying it. I CANNOT imagine how pissed users would be if TSX went down in their brokerage account and customer service said something stupid like "send a screen recording." You guys are out of touch and have lost sight of what's important.
