🇯🇵 Japan like every country has 2 sets of people. Onitsuka Tiger Store Shibuya we faced the guys in the store kept giggling and laughing in their group facing my wife. Experienced by my Wife and told to me. However: the two sets are as follows. 1 - People who will be extra courteous (Facing them 99% of the times) 2 - People who will be rude/ignore you and are just disgruntled not sure for us only or not but they are there as faced in the Shoe store. However yesterday in Onitsuka Tiger store in Ueno the guys were very chill and helped us find the right shoes as well. So the country is definitely recommended but always be vigilant and enjoy the place. #Japan

Axis killing Accor has genuinely made travel card planning confusing 😭 Earlier it was simple: any foreign trip month = swipe M4B because it was almost always an AEP month. No second thoughts. Now I’m in Japan 🇯🇵 and have done all spends on M4B for the last week. But from June 1, I’m genuinely confused because the math suddenly feels very different… • Continue M4B → ~2.5% effective return (assuming June won’t be an AEP month, with only ~6 Japan days left) • Switch to T1 → ~8.2% to Accor from day 1 + 0 forex Leaning towards shifting to T1 for the rest of the trip… but abandoning M4B mid-trip after years feels weird 😂 Curious — what are you guys doing post-Accor removal? Still team M4B abroad, moved to T1, or found a better setup? 👀 @ccg33k @EvryPaisaMatter @imYadav31 @CatchMeAbhiOrb @SartanparaYash #CreditCards #TravelHacking #Accor #AxisBank #MilesAndPoints #JapanTravel #CreditCardRewards

Confession: I still don’t know the optimal way to max out an AEP month without fake/forced spending 😭 Today’s the last day, so help me out: ✅ Genuine spend acceleration ideas only ✅ No unnecessary overspending Only thing on top of mind: Amazon Pay vouchers for future expenses (bonus: best place to buy them in bulk? 👀) What are your best hacks? @ccg33k @EvryPaisaMatter @imYadav31 @CatchMeAbhiOrb @SartanparaYash @pointperkspicks #CreditCards #TravelHacking #CreditCardRewards

Bro, honestly I have never been able to come to terms with using Magnus Burgundy. I am a salaried guy and I have a defined income so maxing out Magnus Burgundy is one thing. If I want to make use of Magnus Burgundy, I will have to spend upwards of the minimum 3 lakhs every month, which is 36 lakhs a year. 36 lakhs a year just spending on one card is not even maxing out. It really does not make sense to me, right? If they have business income or anything of that sort, you have tons of money, you can buy tons of gift cards and whatnot. That's there. Secondly if you feel that Magnus Burgundy is keeping you always on your toes to be maxed out and all, I don't think it's a card for you. That's a very honest opinion. I'm not sure what's your take on that otherwise but what I feel, to be very honest, is that if you are thinking about making some spends which are forced and you know you don't plan to use it, then obviously you are not spending in the right direction. That is my take. If you see, if you have a lot of inflows and outflows obviously because of the business income, you can buy a lot of gift vouchers, spend it here, spend it there, put in business income, this and that.

While M4B >> T1 overall, forex is where things get interesting. M4B (without AEP): + 4.8% miles - Less 2.36% forex markup HSBC TravelOne: + 2X rewards on international spends + 0% forex markup (ongoing) That's ~4% back in miles. Now add the teased transfer bonus: + Assuming 25% bonus = 5% return + Assuming 50% bonus = 6% return For Accor enthusiasts, that's effectively 10%-12% value back..
