If you’re a wrestler that gets offered big money in WWE, you have to be cognizant of the fact that unless you get over as a top talent and/or big merch seller, WWE is gonna try to get out of that deal as soon as possible.
Main roster minimum is $350,000. If you’re like, a midcarder and they throw 500 bands at you, you’re getting that for a year bro. You’re gonna get whacked. Unless you find yourself a YEET.

Woods and Kofi knew this shit was fried btw. There’s a lot of long time vets that have seen the company around them morph, not loved what it’s become, and have actively questioned their place in the new landscape. There are wrestlers there that’d always seen themselves as lifers now coming to grips with the reality that that’s no longer likely, and are gearing up for the next step as it continues to become more and more plainly clear that WWE is no longer a wrestling company, for the wrestlers, for the boys.

The problem with star rating inflation is actually that 4.5 should be more prestigious. Because this is a great list of notable matches of the year, so they should be singled out with some sort of prestige, but the idea that there are this many all-timers in 4 months is silly

Were it not for Conrad Thompson and his podcasts, Dave Meltzer and WWE would fully control the narrative on Pro wrestling history. Thanks to them, they don't fully control it and we have perspectives from Eric Bischoff or Jeff Jarrett who actually ran TNA and WCW.
