South Africa. Every white cross stands for a White farmer murdered in South Africa between 2018–2022. This looks like genocide.

@zilevandamme Excuse me ma'am You suggested that the USA has business ownership laws like South Africa and the ambassador was hypocritical. You cited one example which I disagree with and asked if it was the same principle. It's a simple request.

Rich. The US passed a law forcing ByteDance to either sell TikTok’s US operations to a buyer approved by the US government or face a ban. TikTok is now 80% owned by an American. I'm sure it was "very difficult" for them to do so, but there's them apples.

‘Very Difficult for Corporations to Surrender 30% Ownership’—US Ambassador Criticizes South Africa's 30% Black Ownership Rule Saying It's Blocking Billions in Investment US Ambassador to South Africa L. Brent Bozell III has said the United States wants to invest billions in the country but faces a major hurdle with policies requiring businesses to surrender 30% ownership to black South Africans. He raised the issue when he was speaking to journalists in Pretoria while acknowledging the nation's history of inequality. Bozell spoke at a business event in Hermanus. He stated that the United States is ready to pour money into investments, with both the private sector and government involved. "It's very difficult for...a major corporation to come here and be told it has to surrender 30% of its ownership, or some such thing," he said. He added that corporations have a moral duty to invest in South Africa's future beyond capital. In response to a journalist's question about respecting South Africa's sovereignty and laws, Bozell replied that the United States does not question South Africa's right to set its own policies. However, he noted that America will speak up when policies affect its national interests or security concerns. Bozell stressed that the primary issue is respect for private property rights. He recognized South Africa's emergence from an unequal system but maintained that forced ownership transfers create barriers to large-scale investment from US companies. The comments highlight ongoing tensions in bilateral relations.

Chief Martin Luthuli (mid 1800s - 1921) was a South African political activist, minister and chief of the Groutville Mission Reserve (1908 - 1921). Luthuli was born in the mid-1800s and was raised and educated at the American Zulu Mission at Groutville in Natal, where his parents had been among the first converts. Luthuli was the founding member of the Natal Native Congress He was also a farmer and wagon maker, and in the 1880s he acted as secretary to King Dinizulu. In 1900-1901 he joined Saul Msane, John L. Dube, J. T. Gumede, and other activists in forming the Natal Native Congress, an organization that pressed for increased political representation for Black people as well as for economic and social changes, such as the introduction of private land tenure. Elected chief of the Groutville mission reserve in 1908, Luthuli remained in that position until his death in 1921. Albert Luthuli, who was his nephew, lived for a time in his household as a youth.
