I did serve. I'm someone who carried too many flag-draped caskets in Arlington National Cemetery during the last dumb fucking war in the Middle East. I'm someone who had friends die 20 years ago and should be alive right now to see their kids graduate college and marry and have kids of their own. I'm someone who watched dumb fucking politicians and reporters sleepwalk into an unmitigated catastrophe and feel like I'm experiencing deja vu watching this go down. And I will not be quiet about it.
