Not easy to explain with words (& to some it may sound as a cliche) but being a physician is a LOT more than just a profession to me. It's a calling & no matter what surprises & hardships Life has 'in store' for me this is the ONLY constant in my life which will NEVER change.⚕️

We join the Catholic Church and the global Christian community in mourning the passing of Pope Francis. This is a big loss to the Catholic faithful and the Christian world. Pope Francis will be remembered for a life dedicated to serving the Lord, the Church, and humanity. He exemplified servant leadership through his humility, his unwavering commitment to inclusivity and justice, and his deep compassion for the poor and the vulnerable. His strong ethical and moral convictions inspired millions across the world, regardless of faith or background. May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

"Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (#PTSD): Practice Essentials, Background, Etiology" OVER 30,177 #ServiceMembers 👮 and #veterans of the post-9/11 wars have committed #suicide - over 4⃣ times as many as have #died ⚰️🕯️ in #combat ⚔️. This is 💯 an undeniable #fact that very few people outside the #healthcare profession ⚕️ are aware of and the reason WHY I posted this extremely comprehensive description - article (ALSO completely suitable for interested #laymen) about this too often overlooked 'killer' 🗡️, not to mention the #PsychologicalScars 😖 which are left on children 🧒, women 👩, and men 👨‍🦳 - no matter if they're #civilians 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 or #soldiers 🪖, exposed in such or another way to #TraumaticEvents in the widest possible meaning of those two words. Please, remember that this 'disease' does not discriminate in ANY WAY and will without any doubt leave its lifelong 'mark' among ALL the people 'involved' in the current extremely brutal #war, where many #WarCrimes and even #genocide was committed, that is raging in #Gaza 🇵🇸🇮🇱‼️ Perhaps the #SaddestPart 😢 among all the #TragicThings which are happening is that most of the #victims are #children❗️ A lot, if not the majority of the #PhysicalWounds 🚑 of the #injured children, who have survived, will sooner or later heal but the (late) #consequences of PTSD will NEVER disappear 🙅 completely - even if the child was "lucky" and had access to state-of-the-art (western) #medicine 🏥🩺. The intent of this post is to raise 🆙 #AWARENESS ℹ️ about this largely overlooked consequence of ANY traumatic event and the '#havoc' that it leaves behind 🔙. Please 🙏, DO NOT look away 👀, take your time to read this post 🗒️ and the article 📑 with the link to it 👇 and repost it 🔁. I personally have ABSOLUTELY nothing ❌ to gain with this long post I have written ✍️, but I'm 💯 sure that at least a little benefit (🤏 🔜 ❤️), even if it's smaller than a drop in the ocean 💧, can be achieved, if as many people as possible 📈 are educated about this 🤔. Thank You ALL in advance❣️ emedicine.medscape.com/article/288154… via @medscape

A #quote 📜, a simple sentence, said centuries ago. Yet its relevance, at least IMO, was NEVER so important as it's in those volatile, fast-paced times we live in, where Men put down their masks 🎭 & have shown to the whole World 🌎 that they're worse than any animal could be‼️

Where is the International Criminal Court?! Israel just carpet bombed an entire neighborhood of 15-30 houses in densely packed Jabalia refugee camp, Gaza, using American bombs. More than 400 Palestinians killed and wounded so far. This is not “self-defense”. This is genocide.

Thank you for answering me. My mother told me also something similar, because she remained in contact with some of her former coworkers. Of course no details, but pretty much the same overall 'big picture'. I really don't know anymore where I belong. In Slovenia I was NEVER accepted - from day ONE onwards I was a stranger, persona non grata even for my teachers. But to go back to Germany would be maybe even worse⁉️ So, I'm being stuck between a rock and a hard place - literally and figuratively.

You would not like Duisburg anymore. A good friend of mine is living there, working for the government in the city council. Ok, there have been some no-go areas for years, like Marxloh. But the overall picture was always a good one. It has changed. And the Ruhrgebiet has been a meltingpot for centuries, so it was never "pure" german. Now it is something different.

I'll write my comment in English although I understand German excellent (I was born, raised and lived in Duisburg, #NRW 🇩🇪, until I was a little more than 6 years old), but my writing skills have become over the years a bit rusty - an understatement. I can just say that the SAME thing is without a shred of any doubt happening in #Slovenia 🇸🇮. I notice this almost every day in Maribor, the 2nd largest city of this small country, where I live now for quite a lot of years. I get the feeling of "déjà vu" also in the capital, Ljubljana. I noticed the same 'phenomenon' even few years back in Graz, #Austria 🇦🇹, where quite a lot of my relatives live(d). And please, don't call me a racist, because this would be a complete 💯 lie. I'm the opposite of that. But the words I have written ✍️ ABOVE 👆 are sadly facts - nothing more, nothing less‼️ Yes, I do have my PERSONAL opinion about all this what is happening on regular basis all around me. But this is a completely different 'story' & I don't have the slightest intent to speak about that here.🙅 PERIOD❕

Rassistische Feststellung? Ach was.

"Heart Rate Variability (#HRV 🫀): Ignoring a Harbinger of #Health 🏃?" For those who aren't interested in reading #MedicalArticles ⚕️, I will just answer the question above with one (two) word(s): 'Unfortunately, YES‼️' For the more open-minded: Please 🙏, read the article & do your OWN #research 🔎 about this. Your body 💪 & mind 🧠 will be grateful if you'll start regularly using this #information ℹ️ about your health. For the end, just some additional info: It's estimated that hundreds of millions of people around the world use #smartwatches ⌚️. 30% - 40% of those measure HRV. WHY shouldn't you be one among them⁉️ medscape.com/viewarticle/99… via @medscape
