neuroAI comparisons of ANNs to brains do have a range of problems. Even more than I had realized. And I was worried before: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

@UniversidadMH @IB_UMH @braincomms @GVAhOrihuela @NeuroEngin_UMH @mbiotingUMH #ceguera

We're also publishing FrontierScience, a benchmark measuring expert-level scientific reasoning across physics, chemistry, and biology. We think AI-accelerated science is one of the most exciting promises of AGI, and are excited to build towards clear targets.

We’re releasing a new eval to measure expert-level scientific reasoning: FrontierScience. This benchmark measures PhD-level scientific reasoning across physics, chemistry, and biology. It contains hard, expert-written questions (both olympiad-style problems and longer research-style tasks) designed to reveal where models succeed and where they fall short. openai.com/index/frontier…

Encoding models predict visual responses to novel images in cortical areas. But can these models offer new insights about categorical representations? If so, we should be able to generate new hypotheses from them to be tested in future experiments. @NeurIPSConf #NeurIPS2025 1/15

For a long time, some have daydreamed about whether neural networks can learn to effectively synthesize stimulation patterns to write information into the brain.
