Nigeria is using more cement today than ever.... If you listen to the opposition...you would think the world is ending tomorrow.... But if you look beyond their emotional blackmail you would discover that the world is just getting started.... When prices are rising you position yourself to be a beneficiary... But Wailers scout the internet everyday to get the bad news that would make them more miserable... They are the reason why the Urhobos say. It is better to born a thief than to born a mumu... Proverbs are not for kids....

POLITICAL RECORD REMINDER: About 2023 Presidential Election in Nigeria, kindly take note: 1. Peter Obi of Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of PDP did not approach the 2023 Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and later the Supreme Court with the claim or prayer that “We won the election; declare us the winners.” 2. Their funny petitions: They were challenging Bola Tinubu’s qualification/eligibility, not the result.... They alleged non-compliance with the Electoral Act like result transmission issues, and failure to meet the 25% FCT threshold, not Tinubu's victory. 3. They wanted the Court to declare Tinubu and Shettima unqualified, they didn't say Tinubu did not win the election... They wanted the election nullified and order a fresh one that would exclude Tinubu/Shettima🤣🤣🤣 Again, they both never mentioned it in court that Tinubu did not win, and Atiku who came second and Obi who came thru didn't claim in court that they win the election..... Are we clear now???

I am Nigerian, and right now my dream is bigger than me. Only about 1% of global electronics manufacturing happens in Africa. That means millions of African innovators are building the future using ecosystems that don't account for them. Brilliant minds wait weeks for a single prototype PCB to cross oceans, stalled by borders and supply chains that ignore our shores. When iteration takes months instead of days, innovation suffocates. That gap has consequences. It keeps us as consumers of tech rather than creators. So at SkyPower / CircuitCraft, we are deciding to build towards changing it. We are completely rebuilding the hardware prototyping infrastructure right here in Nigeria. Local manufacturing. Precision engineering. Rapid iteration. We are putting the power to design, spin, and deploy production-grade hardware directly into the hands of African builders. The dream is bigger than us—but we are building the foundation anyway. 🇳🇬⚙️

This is how Kano voted for President Bola Tinubu as the presidential candidate of our great party, the APC. What we are witnessing today is nothing short of a mock election ahead of the general election. The massive turnout and overwhelming support displayed by party members clearly show that Kano remains solidly behind the President and the APC. The message from Kano is loud and clear, the journey to victory has already begun.

Husband has two laptops One was given to him as a Work from home tool by the foreign bank he is working with The other was his personal laptop with him he handles his personal business. Wife’s father died in Nigeria Husband was not given leave at work to travel abroad Wife was as given compassionate leave Wife pleads with husband to please show his face at the funeral Husband decided to take the risk He mirrored the office laptop to his personal laptop Left it connected in such a way that he can work on it remotely using his personal computer and travelled with the family to Nigeria for work Wife was aware of the risk the husband took The plan was to travel to Nigeria on Friday and return to London on Sunday They got to Nigeria The husband set up his personal laptop at the hotel so that if any work call or email comes in he would attend to it immediately It worked He was able to work remotely and he was in the UK on Saturday morning After this he went to the burial rites, greeted members of the family and paid his respects to all and sundry When he got back to their room he discovered his laptop was gone It was not stolen He could see from all the disconnections and wires lying around that his wife took it He rushed to the car and drove furiously to the wife’s parent’s house to ask her for his laptop When he got there, he saw that his wife had handed it over to her older brother who had connected it to some amplifiers to play some of their father’s Fåvourite music to entertain her family He didn’t think it would be proper to disrupt such a solemn family moment So he went back to the hotel and waited anxiously for them to be done and for his laptop to be returned. At almost midnight, the laptop was returned By then the husband has gotten two messages from his team lead asking him where he was because he missed some tasks and his laptop indicated that he was in Nigeria He reconnected his laptop and tried very hard to do some damage control. He was livid and he didn’t fail to say so to his wife According to the wife he said “You betrayed my trust, you took my work computer without regards for my sacrifices and well being to play music in loving memory of your father. You could have hired a DJ or bought a laptop somewhere in Lagos. You knew the risk I took to be at this event with you and you decide to expose me this way. You better pray I don’t lose my job over this. If I as much as get a query, this marriage is over” Wife said she didn’t think that far. Her brother asked her if she brought her laptop because he had carefully made a selection of their father’s Fåvourite songs on a flash drive and would like to play it at the house after the funeral while his friends and family member were still around to commiserate with their mother. She said she went to the room to see if she could borrow her husband’s laptop and met his absence. So she just took it. Innocent mistake. They got back to the UK and husband’s job was terminated. Husband is asking for a divorce Wife is saying jobs are replaceable, a marriage is not. How can an innocent mistake be the cause of their divorce? Husband says the wife has always been like that Lacking an understanding of boundaries and willing to throw anybody under the bus to get her desired result in anything she wanted to do. He had told her he couldn’t travel because his office didn’t permit him She prevailed on him to take the risk and then destroyed his carefully built wall of protection by removing the laptop from its connection Wife said she didn’t intend to do any harm. Just to play some music with the laptop Husband said wife is deflecting and moved out of their apartment Wife is asking what the big deal is…

This is why I don’t believe in the rhetoric of any messiah coming to help a country. Ousmane Sonko was supposed to be the president. He had the streets of Senegal on lockdown. However he got convicted for defamation and was barred from running for presidency. Sonko then supported his friend , Doimaye Faye to become president. The same guy Sonko helped to become president has refused to sign the bill that makes Sonko eligible to contest for the presidency despite overwhelming support from the National Assembly. Now Diomaye Faye has removed Sonko as the prime minister. All these while Senegal is grappling with an economic crisis. Fuel subsidy will gulp over $2 billion dollars this year.

A nigerian state once had three governors at the same time In October 2006, Ekiti State witnessed one of the most absurd chapters in Nigeria’s democratic experiment: a full-blown “three governors” crisis. It began on October 16 when the PDP-controlled Ekiti State House of Assembly impeached Governor Ayodele Fayose and his Deputy, Chief (Mrs) Abiodun Olujimi, over allegations of corruption and gross misconduct. Immediately after, the Speaker of the House, Hon. Friday Aderemi, was sworn in as Acting Governor in line with constitutional provisions. But the matter quickly spiraled into chaos. Fayose rejected the impeachment outright, describing it as illegal, politically motivated, and unconstitutional. He went into hiding but continued to insist he was still the legitimate governor. His deputy, Abiodun Olujimi’s specific legal claim was rooted in the argument that the impeachment process against both her and Fayose was fundamentally flawed and therefore null and void. As Deputy Governor, she maintained that even if Fayose’s removal was upheld, she automatically became the substantive Governor (or at the very least Acting Governor) until a proper process was followed. She challenged her own impeachment in court, resumed duties at the Government House with her security detail intact, and declared herself the authentic authority pending the resolution of the legal disputes. For several hours, Ekiti effectively had three parallel claimants to power: - Embattled Governor Ayodele Fayose - Deputy Governor Abiodun Olujimi (claiming succession rights) - Speaker Friday Aderemi (installed as Acting Governor) The confusion paralyzed governance. President Olusegun Obasanjo eventually declared a state of emergency, suspended democratic institutions in the state, and appointed Brig. Gen. Tunji Olurin (rtd) as Sole Administrator. The saga remains a classic example of how impeachment powers were allegedly abused for political vendettas during the Obasanjo era, given Governor Fayose's running political tussle with the president, which continues to this day.

Chicago woman mocks Democrats by speaking in a squeaky, high-pitched voice, who say black people's voting rights are in danger. The woman also called out the commissioners one by one to their faces. "I'm 63 years old. I've been voting since I was 18. I have never had a problem voting..." "So now you're all gonna drag black people in here, definitely some senior citizens, and gonna have them come up here and talk about how they're scared to vote... all that junk, when you know it's not true."

Grandma always disciplined the kids with her slippers. If they misbehaved and ran off, she’d throw one and never missed. For her birthday, they placed a bottle on a distant table and handed her a slipper to aim at. She hit it perfectly.

The problem started when I said "e choke" in a meeting. My colleague Linda from accounting paused mid-slide. She said, Is everything okay with your throat? I said, No, Linda, it means the numbers are impressive. She wrote that down. She literally wrote it down. Three days later she told our boss the quarterly projections were choking her. HR got involved. I work in Toronto, in a glass office where the only other Nigerian is a man named Tunde who has completely assimilated. The kind who pronounces "schedule" like he invented the language. He avoids me in the breakroom because I remind him of jollof rice and his mother's expectations. So I suffer alone. Last month I told a project manager that the deadline was giving me wahala. He emailed my supervisor asking if wahala was a vendor we needed to loop in. I now have a meeting on Friday about clarifying communication styles. The worst was when I said "abeg" to an intern. She thought it was a new productivity tool. She searched the internal software catalogue. By Tuesday, IT had opened a ticket. I tried explaining slangs to my coworkers once. Big mistake. Now every Monday morning, Kevin from sales greets me with "How far?" but he says it like "How far, my good man?" and waits for a response as if I am a foreign exchange student he is sponsoring. Linda has started saying "e choke" whenever she completes a spreadsheet. She does finger quotes around it. She has made a PowerPoint slide titled "Nigerian Business Expressions for Cross-Cultural Synergy." I sat Tunde down last week. I said, Tunde, you need to help me. They've weaponized our entire lexicon. He adjusted his cardigan. He said, I'm sorry, I don't really speak it anymore. I said, You were born in Owerri. He said, That was a long time ago. He stirred his green tea. No sugar. No milk. Just assimilation and regret. Yesterday I overheard my boss on a client call. She said the deal was giving her gbe body. I had told her "gbe body" means being alert. She now uses it to mean proactive. The client loved it. They want it in the brochure. I have created a monster. The office Christmas party is next week and Kevin told me he is planning to say "shey you dey whine me" during his toast. He has been practising pronunciation with a YouTube video titled "Speak Nigerian in 5 Minutes." I will not be attending. Every diaspora office has one person fighting for their slangs and one Tunde drinking green tea pretending he cannot remember the taste of chin chin.
