My goal is for all insulin pump and CGM users to have a stress free and safe experience at airport security around the world. See link below.

Do you use an insulin pump or CGM when flying? We’re gathering feedback on how UK airport security handles medical devices during screening. smartsurvey.co.uk/s/mda2025/ Please share with others in the diabetes community - every voice matters! 💙 @parthaskar

@GLA_Airport So your telling people not to be a numpty and be prepared, perhaps you should train the security staff on the subject of insulin pumps, every time I go away I get nothing but hassle because staff don't have a clue when I tell them I can't go through the body scanner with my pump

Oh and you’ll never guess what…… the security staff at #Gatwick couldn’t give a monkeys toss if you’re wearing an insulin pump, and insulin doesn’t turn to water if it’s not in a frio pouch #gbdoc

@British_Airways Thanks Anthony! Trying to get through the airport with an insulin pump and a blood glucose sensor on my arm will be an interesting experience - can’t go through the arch or hand X-ray or magnet scanners 🙄 but I’ll sure it’ll be okay once I’ve done it once! 😊

Very excited for my trip to New York in August. Looking forward to spending a week in America for the first time - and to go on a plane for the first time in my life, too! Hopefully the @British_Airways flight isn’t delayed, or cancelled!

Please share & help spread the word! Reminder to airport security staff … insulin pumps and CGMs must NOT be either screened by x-ray or pass through the security scanner, and should be screened by alternative methods. See the #MedicalDeviceAwarenessCard

In the child’s own words he felt he was going to die sans insulin pump during the flight. Hopeful the child is compensated. Young boy made to remove life-saving diabetes device to go through airport security 9now.nine.com.au/a-current-affa…

@x0_beccaUC In the uk we ask our gp/diabetes nurse for letter re diabetes tech/ insulin to show airport staff. Never personally had issue with being made to go through scanners etc but have heard of people who have had to be forceful saying no to xray equipment. Some people use a lanyard
