There are 20,000 recovered manuscripts of the New Testament - #1 book by volume based on recovered manuscripts. There are 5,800 Greek manuscripts, with thousands from Latin, Coptic, and Syriac.

@lisavsworld @DocMartinez2013 Exactly to all that. I broke up with her, and she got married within 4 years. I was still missing her even after that, even though I knew it was pointless to think about. It was a good learning experience and helped me understand how to approach future relationships much better.

You brain become rewired by vasopressing. Neural pathways are formed that see that person as your partner, the person you are loyal to, and the one you must protect. Even though the accumulated vasopressin starts to breakdown and leave your body almost immediately, the neural pathways remain until clipped by enough cortisol (I believe), a stress hormone. Women can move on more quickly, although if they are not the ones leaving first (or caught out of the blue), they will have a harder time with the idea of breaking up, but will move on faster. If they're breaking up with you, they've already moved on.

@lisavsworld @DocMartinez2013 This, it took me like 10 years to get over my first long-term girlfriend completely. I was still dating then too, but I legit had intrusive thoughts about the relationship because I missed our bond so much. Glad I'm over that, but this phenomena is real.

@DocMartinez2013 So, that's actually not true if they've properly bonded. If you're fully in the committed love stage, it's harder for men to recover. Prior to that, it's far easier for men to recover. Women attach quicker, but men attach harder.

1. Most people don't need much for their computer setup - a browser, text editor, and a few other apps - most popular apps have native Linux binaries and there are open source Linux alternatives 2. Linux is obviously superior to Windows for development and acting like it isn't is strange. Most libraries don't need compilation, but the option to compile them is a feature that let's you have more control. Hardly anyone has issues with this anymore because the various Linux package managers have virtually everything you need at this point. 3. Importantly, Linux is going to get better over time. It can even play most Windows at this point via Proton, and they're often faster. EA is porting Javelin to Linux because they see the writing is on the wall. Windows is going to continue getting worse. Keep using it at your own peril. The next update they make to it may be the last time your computer works, and you'll lose all your data. Then you'll be forced to install Linux anyways.

For anybody saying "Just use Linux", you need to realise that Linux is worse than Windows. Windows has all the bloat, and while you can have Linux without any of that you still don't have tools like Remedybg, RAD Debugger and Super Luminal. Once you have such tools, then Linux is a suitable app development environment. But _it is still trash_ because of the whole Linux model of you needing to compile everything. The fact that you cannot run an app built using a newer version of glibc is an insane decision. I shouldn't have to upgrade my whole machine in order to run something built on a newer version. I shouldn't be worried that an upgrade will break my machine. I shouldn't be forced to compile things from scratch to work on my machine. I shouldn't be forced to install N packages, I just want self contained binaries I can just download and run. I shouldn't be forced to develop with an old distro to have "max glibc compatibility". I shouldn't have to worry about X11 / Wayland / Window Managers. I shouldn't have to worry about asking the user to select a folder, display a dialog or show notifications. Linux is such a huge waste of potential, if they got their shit together they would completely obliterate Windows. I first got into Linux in 2000, and even back then there was this "it will take over Windows any time now!". It's been _26 years_! The same way I'd pay quite a lot for Windows without any bloat, I'd be willing to pay for a distro that gives me all this.

I have so much gratitude to people who wrote extremely complex software character-by-character. It already feels difficult to remember how much effort it really took. Thank you for getting us to this point.

@dounbug @gainzy222 You should also be banned for responding to the post you just read with this answer. It’s a post about engagement bait…and you flat out ignore the topic to answer a picture of engagement bait. You are a retard.

@Adorable_Adora1 @CollinRugg When I was 18 I understood how to exist in the legal framework of the country (follow the golden rule, don't lie, cheat, steal, or kill). If you can't do that, you need to be in jail for a long time.

@CollinRugg This is really sad. He’s only 18 years old, and now he faces a sentence that will keep him in prison for most of his adult life. His family must be feeling a lot of pain and worry over what this will mean for his future.

NEW: Family of a Texas teen loses it as judge sentences him to 25 years in prison for robbing a convenience store. Judge Raquel West was seen torching 18-year-old Caden James Fontenette before handing out the sentence. "There was a time some years ago that there really wasn't even a question... State's attorneys were recommending youthful offenders probation. Let's give everybody an opportunity..." West said. "You don't have a good likelihood of being successful if I were to put you on probation... I'm going to sentence you to a term of 25 years." Fontenette pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery for a 2025 incident where he and two others robbed a convenience store at gunpoint. The suspects were caught on camera assaulting the store clerk. Fontenette will likely be in his 40s when he is released from prison.

@molecularmusing I actually like building software. This industry is filled with people who don't even like what they do. It's a blessing for me to build software. AI is the elite coding partner I've always wanted. It's great.

@molecularmusing This is so dumb. Programming was always a means to an end. My goal was always to produce useful stuff. I wrote high performance clean code to do this. It took a long time. LLMs get me from point A to B so fast that I never want to go back.

I find this extremely worrying, with many of people I respect saying things like "I no longer write code" or "let LLMs do it". Why did you start programming? Was it never the journey for you, but only the goal? I genuinely want to understand this, I seem to be the odd one out.
