Gonna say it now: Sierra's autoaim ability is GOOD design.
The initial projectile only does 30 damage. It gets most of its value slowly over time after that, which the target can avoid by using LoS.
The alternative is a massive immediate burst (like Freja), or a DoT. Neither of which the target can avoid after getting hit.
The autoaim part of the ability is just a way to spread value out instead of tying it all to the one initial hit. This is a good thing especially for a projectile.
