For many people it sounds like pure sci-fi, but after working with tons of apps across different niches, I’ve had the chance to look at a huge number of accounts and after analyzing the data, I’ve come to the conclusion that there are specific periods when TikTok (and also Instagram, based on what some users shared on Reddit) will boost your account if it’s “good in standing”, for a certain window to help you blow up. What I usually do is use a scraper + Zapier to log data daily into an Excel file, then every now I analyze it with AI. Doing this helps me spot recurring patterns in how the algorithm behaves. This kind of boost typically happens around 6 to 7 months in (sometimes even 7 and a half) of consistently posting, when your views and followers suddenly go parabolic. I had one month in particular where I was getting 1,000 followers and 60k views per video per day on accounts that were previously doing just 10 to 20 followers and 1 to 2k views, using only slideshows. There were times this didn’t happen though and it was usually with accounts that had violations, too many shadowbanned videos, or were built around trends or niches that slowly became irrelevant.

@sertacyam I do 7–10 days but that’s just personal preference. I prefer carousels with a max of 3 or 4 photos, single photos work too, but only in specific niches

If done incorrectly, changing hashtags too often can hurt your reach in the long run. A long thread with insights and mistakes I found while working with big apps 🧵 On TikTok, when you add hashtags to a video, try to stay consistent and stick to your niche. You can adjust them slightly depending on the content, but don’t overdo it. One of the most common mistakes, even from big companies with creative apps, is changing hashtags every time and using popular ones from completely different niches. For example, if your niche is video editing and you use a hashtag like “gossip”, you’re mixing unrelated topics. Even if your account already went viral with videos hitting 80 million views and you have 30k followers, constantly changing hashtags and using trending ones from other areas can confuse the algorithm. It won’t know who to show your videos to, and you could end up with just 300 to 500 views, even if the content could easily reach hundreds of thousands. This could push your account into a long shadowban phase, and fixing it later might be really difficult. When I work on a product or content category, I always make a list of core hashtags to include in every post. Then I add one or two extra hashtags that match the specific video, but I always keep things consistent. For example, if the app is about video editing, a core hashtag should always be “videoediting”. If that video is about editing a travel clip, you can add “travel”, but avoid switching things too much. Adding “travel” might be fine, but remember that if your niche is “videoediting”, your goal is to reach that audience, not people interested in travel. That topic might still catch their attention, sure, but that’s a different story. You shouldn’t overdo it.
