GS reiterates Buy on Nintendo "The company stated that this was merely a speculative article by the media and not the company's official stance" "we do not currently see a gap that would require an immediate revision to our forecast"

Square Enix was the #1 publisher of 2025 on Metacritic, a first for the company As for platform holders: 🟢 Microsoft - was #5 (80% avg score) 🔴 Nintendo - was #12 (77% avg score) 🔵 Sony - was #21 (74% avg score) Fantastic results from Xbox! ▶️ metacritic.com/pictures/2026-…

Nintendo simply way overshot their estimation. Apparently they planned for 6 million units per quarter now reduced to 4 million. 6 million per quarter is insane. That 24 million per fiscal year and that's not including the holiday surge. 16M per FY is more reasonable.

Actual missed opportunity from Nintendo to not make BOTW a new IP. There’s almost no Zelda DNA in the game. No OST, no structure, no story, full voice acting, the main character costume isn’t Link’s. Change the name of the map and the two heroes and there’s nothing of Zelda left.

Nintendo cuts Switch 2 production by over 30% due to weak US sales. The company now plans to make 4 million units this quarter instead of 6 million, with reductions continuing into April.

A reminder, "fastest selling launches aligned" means very little when only one of those consoles had a holiday bump and zero supply constraints. I've been talking about this for a year. Today's news doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
