Higley families are you aware of over $50k in equipment stolen from WFHS? Higley didn’t initially submit this to insurance. The area hadn’t been secured to prevent more thefts, but HUSD has no problem asking taxpayers for more money. Has this been discussed at a board meeting?

The budget totals, prove education spending increases yearly..... the schools rarely spend their entire yearly appropriation and carry fwd millions yearly.

PRESTON LORD: "When defendants flaunt / willfully violate their terms of release like this Defendant it causes emotional harm to the next of kin."
Prosecutors are asking a Judge to revoke Talyn Vigil's current release conditions and impose a new $1.25 million cash bond. Vigil has been arrested twice while on house arrest and electronic monitoring. One of those arrests was for allegedly violating an order of protection. Both of those new cases are moving through Gilbert municipal court. The Judge said a decision would come on or before April 1. Vigil and the other 5 remaining defendants in the Preston Lord case are charged with felony murder ⬇⬇⬇

Higley USD, where’s your documentation? The auditors’ sample batch must’ve missed this odd little duckling. Last I checked- personnel didn’t roll up their sleeves, jump behind the Firehouse counter, and give the community or students a hands-on lesson on how to make those subs.

Ok HIGLEY USD, I have another one… Why are you using M&O funds for regular education… but then paying $2,700 to The Church of Jesus Christ LDS coded 2630 as maintenance of plant for dues/fees? 2630 is supposed to be for maintaining your own school buildings- not a church.

@MrDanielBuck When I was teaching we weren’t allowed to have all of these distractions in our classrooms. We weren’t allowed limited to two posters. The students artwork and class assignments we wanted to highlight had to be hung in the hallways.

You know those classrooms with neon posters, dangly's on the ceiling, and 100 different displays?
They're bad for learning.
Children become "distracted," spending "more time off task and demonstrating "smaller learning gains when the walls were highly decorated."

📢UCSB Psych Professor: social emotional learning is potentially harmful "psychological pandemonium" - and learning to read more important:
"In theory, integrating the SEL curriculum with the standard academic curriculum sounds great. In practice, however, SEL may distract from more important school goals and may even be harmful to students."
1/ Classroom may not be the appropriate setting for psychological interventions to take place
2/ Teachers not be qualified and trained to deliver the SEL curriculum
3/ "prioritizing SEL may not be wise when K-12 students’ test scores are mixed or even poor in reading, math, and science....any available instructional time should probably be dedicated to helping students master basic reading, math and other skills. While emotional regulation skills and reading, for example, are both important, reading is far more practical and fundamental than learning how to regulate one’s emotions."

Here’s why it’s bad. Falcon is heavily occupied by flight schools which will end their leases at the airport. The city doesn’t make their money on landing fees, they make it by collecting 10k a month from hangar rental. I suspect over time the airport will transform more into a Scottsdale airport and Cessna traffic will be replaced by jet traffic

This is wild! There is zero accountability over in Cartwright.
Teachers were subjected to crazy DEI/Woke/Land acknowledgement trainings for years! If people saw how the district spent their money they’d be outraged.

I brought this lobbyist contract forward for cancellation but the new board members voted to keep it 3-2. So we continue to spend $ on lobbyists and consultants while cutting vital school staff positions.
