@VinoNStrosGal Same. People think I’m crazy for all the stuff I have to carry around. But I have to if I’m going to be able to go somewhere.

People think chronic illness is isolating because you can’t always go out. It’s not that. It’s isolating because you stop explaining. For example, my family wants to take me out somewhere today, and I want to go. But before I even leave, I’m already planning everything. Packing a bag with my meds. Electrolytes. Extra water. Salty snacks. Thinking about how long I can last. Where I can sit. What happens if I crash. It’s a whole operation just to show up. And after a while, you stop trying to explain all of that to people who will never have to think that way. So you simplify it. You say “I’m fine.” And eventually, you just carry it quietly. That’s when it really sets in. Not when you’re alone… but when you’re surrounded by people, and still doing all of it by yourself. I miss the version of my life where I could just… go. I know I’m not the only one.

OMG people… Universal healthcare is for CANADIANS. Not tourists, not visitors, and not Americans passing through. Sorry your country won’t take care of you, but that’s not on us.

Arky started stressing after having to pay $1,000 in Toronto, Canada for a Doctor to check his broken hand despite having health insurance in America 😭 "they said its $1,000 to just look at it, if you need medicine we are going to charge you extra on top of that"

@janninereid1 🙋🏼‍♀️In grade 1 I was sent home for wearing culottes. It was a big concession for ski pants in winter. I was in grade 5 when girls could finally wear pants. The boys protested by wearing skirts & dresses. LOL It did not have the desired effect of changing administration minds. 😂

@sewhappy26 @ThatEricAlper It is. I guess it’s mainly due to the fact that all the tools, rulers & patterns are mostly US product & that’s what we have easiest access to. However, our retailers buy their fabric by the meter in most cases so they sell it that way too. I prefer a ‘a little extra’ anyway. 😂

@ThatEricAlper Indeed! We Canadians of a certain age group are proudly fluent in imperial and metric and will flip from one to the other with little to no effort. I’m a technical drawer who worked in metric, while as a quilter work exclusively in imperial. We are so adaptable. 😁

@WillieHandler This is as outrageous as my son using my sewing shears on paper! Both require swift action! Google away! I obviously can’t divorce my son but he did pale when told he would pay for sharpening the shears and if it ever happens again he will be buying me new shears. 😂😂😂

I had an ex who cheated on me reach out after years of no contact to let me know he was getting married. “I thought you should hear it from me.” I responded, “I wish you all the best, but no need to tell me about the next one.”

@cynthia95606126 @DrDoyleSays In grade 6 I overheard my elementary school librarian tell my teacher that she had to ask for more money for the library because she was having trouble keeping up with me because I took out a new book every day after school. Since grade 2 books saved me.

When what we grew up with was f*cking toxic, maybe it was fictional characters from books, TV, or movies who showed us who we could be, what was possible-- that there was a world out there worth staying alive to experience. Who was it for you?

I think so often about people who, trapped in various kinds of defeat like I was, feel too ashamed to go to church and, if that’s you, I want to say to you this morning, that’s why we have a savior. Jesus came to this world—God made flesh—and gave his sinless life on a cross, was laid in the tomb and raised from the dead for people like you and me. You don’t have to clean yourself up for Jesus. He is clean enough for us both. You are welcome in his arms and you are most certainly welcome in a church with the rest of us sinners saved by nothing but grace. Do not be deceived by how we may seem. We were just as desperate. Find a place and go!

@sewhappy26 @WillieHandler It was fun how they incorporated bits of Belzer into the character he was playing: most notably, the conspiracy-theory stuff.

@WillieHandler Law & Order: Fin (played by Ice-T): Why we always sent to look for a needle in a haystack? Munch (Richard Belzer): Takes me back to the Easter-egg hunts of my childhood. Fin: You’re Jewish. What you doing with Easter eggs? Munch: Exactly. Hours & hours of fruitless searching.
