President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan:
"As was the case yesterday, the issue today is not where Ankara stands; it is where Brussels wants to be in the world of the future and how it envisions itself.
It must now be understood that a European Union without Türkiye as a full member cannot become a global actor or a centre of attraction.
We are not, and will never be, a country remembered only in times of need, called upon when required, but sidelined the rest of the time.
The European Union must fully appreciate the value of Türkiye’s constructive approach, must not take it for granted, and must refrain from actions and rhetoric that would undermine it.
It should not be forgotten that Türkiye is no longer the Türkiye of the past, nor is the world confined, as it once was, to the “sphere of influence” of Western states.
A new world is being formed—one in which regional cooperation is gaining importance, new actors are emerging, and the global system is rapidly evolving towards multipolarity.
And Türkiye stands among the strongest candidates to become one of the poles of the new system.
Let me state this clearly…
Today, Europe’s need for Türkiye is greater than Türkiye’s need for Europe; and this need will grow even further tomorrow."
