San Francisco Police

Yesterday morning I joined the SFPD Marine Unit for a patrol along the San Francisco waterfront, under the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and Pier 39. This incredible team is responsible for protecting 64 square miles of water, from the bay to the open ocean. These officers keep San Franciscans safe on the water every single day. Whether there's a a boat crash, a problem on the water outside a Giants game, or shark attack they’re prepared. As the largest maritime law enforcement unit in Northern California, this team of officers and divers plays a critical role in keeping San Franciscans and visitors safe every day.
