I was at the Washington Hilton tonight for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner as the guest of @NEWSMAX President @ChrisRuddyNMX, and @Greta Van Susteren and her husband @JohnPCoale. We are still learning details, but I am grateful to God that the President of the United States is safe and that no innocent people were harmed. It could have been much worse. I’m tremendously thankful for our Secret Service and law enforcement. It was incredible to witness these highly trained experts spring into action to get President @realDonaldTrump, the First Lady, and our nation’s leaders out quickly and efficiently.
I thank God that America has such a great leader. Pray for our President.

@GovTimWalz You just called him a fascist last week on your trip to Europe.
Remember when violence against ICE agents increased by 1,000% after you called them the Gestapo?
What did you think your rhetoric was going to do, Tim…

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche opened his address to the media with three of the most powerful lines of the night.
BLANCHE: “Tonight you saw the very worst and the very best of this country.”
“You saw the very worst by the actions of that coward that the president just talked about.”
“But you also saw the very best because you saw law enforcement do exactly what they’re supposed to do.”

You stand and salute the flag of the country that elected you. The room is full of reporters who spent years calling you a fascist, a dictator, the next Hitler. You came anyway. You honored them anyway.
Minutes later, agents are dragging you out a side door. A shooter has breached the venue, looking for the man those same headlines spent a decade painting a target on.
Words have consequences. They told the country you were Hitler. Someone believed them. For the third time.
Pray for President Trump.
