SCHOOL ~ Crime of the Century is the third studio album by the British rock band Supertramp, released in October 1974 on A&M Records. Crime of the Century was Supertramp's commercial breakthrough in many countries, most notably in the UK, Canada and Germany where it peaked in the Top 5 while also making the Top 20 in Australia and France. It was the band's first album to chart in the United States, reaching No. 38 on the Billboard 200. "School" was another popular track, particularly on album rock-oriented radio stations. The album was certified Gold in the US in 1977 after the release of Even in the Quietest Moments.... In Canada, it was eventually certified Diamond (sales of one million copies). What memories does this song bring back for you? Share it with a friend or familly! #SupertrampsRogerHodgson #school #supertramp #electricguitar #harmonicaSchoo

He makes it sound like electricity is produced from thin air. The most reliable efficient source of electricity comes from burning natural gas. Solar and wind are like a pimple on an elephants ass.

PM Carney: "Canada will double its electricity generation over the course of the next two decades because the path to affordability is electrification. The path to competitiveness is electrification. The path to net zero is electrification."

There’s probably going to be another referendum in Quebec this year. Are the feds, the courts, and FNs going to launch a full scale assault on Quebec like they’re doing to Alberta? Somehow I have a feeling they will show more respect for the wishes of Quebecers.

I’m Métis. My family has been in the Alberta region long before Canada was a country or Alberta was a province. @grok can you tell me if Alberta Métis were asked if they wanted to join Canada in 1905? Maybe the right judge can decide to take Alberta out of Canada, since we don’t seem to care about Democracy anymore.

Why does Alberta have only 6 senators with over 5 million people, Nova Scotia have 10 senators with ~1.1 million people, Newfoundland and Labrador have 5 senators with ~550,000 people, New Brunswick have 9 senators with ~870,000 people, Manitoba have 5 senators with 1.5 million people, Ontario have 23 senators with ~16.2 million people, PEI have 4 senators with ~182,000 people, Quebec have 20 senators with ~9.1 million people, Saskatchewan have 6 senators with ~1.27 million people, BC have 6 senators with ~4.82 million people? How is this fair and equitable??? Unreal. This system is outrageous and no I don’t live out west, I live in Ontario and I knew that the seats in the house were not fair and I didn’t look that up but I had the senators list when I called all of them to ask them to vote against bill C-9 and I just can’t believe how unfair this is. We should all have equal seats and senators as per population! Is there something I don’t understand here.

@ImMeme0 @genesimmons But if a billionaire could do what most do for them, by themselves, theyd do it, therefore selecting which charity worker case they decide to invest it. It's not universal, it's greed. But ultimately their choice.

Legendary @genesimmons weighs in on billionaires. You don’t have to agree with it, but he’s dead on: “A poor person never gave me a job, ever. And even if you’re an asshole hundred-billionaire who never gave a penny to charity… and you’re totally selfish, well, that selfish billionaire asshole is providing money so you can feed your family and put a roof over your family’s head.”

@BillWiIdin When I pay the dentist, at a clothing store, Rona, my car repairs, full serve gas, I always ask where the tip screen is on their debit machines? Those people are doing more service for me than the fast food server at pick-up or the beer kiisk at a game! Tipping way outa control!

I just went to a self-serve frozen yogurt shop. I picked the cup, pulled the lever, and added my own toppings. At checkout, the iPad was flipped toward me with options for 20%, 25%, and 30% tips. The employee who was literally leaning against the wall on her phone sighed and rolled her eyes when I hit "No Tip." When did we start tipping people for the privilege of doing their job for them? Am I the villain here?

@DrDiGiorgio Thanks for telling me how my healthcare is in Canada. Your generalized view is false. Healthcare is federally funded but provincially managed. Waitlist isues tend to always be provincial mgmt issues. These are not all Canadian issues. My healthcare is excellent and free.

This is the ultimate midwit healthcare take. No, 32 countries have not “figured out” universal healthcare. The UK has “free” healthcare, and roughly 1 in 3 cancer patients in England still fail to start treatment within 62 days of urgent referral. Canada has “free” healthcare, and the median wait for neurosurgical treatment is around a year. Australia has “free” healthcare, and over half the country still buys private insurance despite paying for a public universal system with their taxes. Switzerland has universal coverage, because residents are required to buy private insurance. There is no government system where benevolent bureaucrats tuck you in at night with a warm blanket and an MRI appointment. The actual lesson from other wealthy countries is not “they figured it out.” America’s system has huge problems. Our prices are insane, insurance markets are distorted, and hospital systems are cartelized. Our regulations make care more expensive than it needs to be. Yet we still guarantee access to even the 8% who don’t have coverage. We give easy routes to qualify for medicaid for those with disabilities. Pretending the rest of the world solved healthcare because they slapped the word “universal” on a rationing scheme is not analysis. It is bumper sticker policy for people who think access means having a card in your wallet while you wait a year to see the doctor you need.
daz@MetamateDaz

Free Universal Healthcare is so complicated and expensive that only 32 of the 33 wealthiest countries in the world have figured it out.
