Salams, and wishing you the best in these last 10 days of Ramadan! We created Zabihah way back in 1998 so that we could power the halal food revolution. Since then we've served millions of Halal foodies around the world with the best halal food nearby. We've now rewritten everything from scratch and plan to introduce several new features we've been pondering for years now. Stay tuned! After years of building Zabihah into the leading global platform for halal discovery, we’re taking the next step in our evolution — and it’s a major one. Zabihah is merging with @RiverAppHQ, a rapidly growing fintech infrastructure company focused on compliant, cross-border payments. Zabihah will become the brand & gateway to the halal economy — powered by River’s infrastructure. As part of this merger, Arman Khwaja is joining River as Co-Founder & Chief Growth Officer, and @shahed will lead Zabihah’s transition into a halal payments platform within River. Why River? River is scaling fast — processing tens of millions in annualized volume, growing 550% this year, and already working with governments, telecoms, and platforms to: - Replace informal hawala systems - Power Shariah-compliant remittances - Enable digital wallets at global scale The River team includes founders of category-defining companies and is backed by former leaders from Venmo, Brex, and Deel — who are not just advisors, but also investors. Why Zabihah? Because trust matters. Because reach matters. Because building for the global Muslim market requires both. Together, we’re building the world’s first end-to-end halal commerce ecosystem — from discovery to delivery to remittance. And we’re just getting started. Let’s build the future of halal fintech — together. #halal #fintech #startups #muslim #zabihah #payments #remittances

@shahed Hello there! I noticed your campaign online and I'm interested in learning more about it to see if I can be of assistance. Could you tell me a bit more about it? I'd like to make sure I have a good understanding before offering any help. Thanks! 😊

Since Tears for Fears is trending, here's a lyric for Kevin McCarthy and other GOP "leaders" who keep enabling a radicalized, weaponized MAGA base. Maybe some will finally learn the lesson? (Nah, they won't.) "In violent times, you shouldn't have to sell your soul..."

Alhamdullilah, last week we hosted a Muslim Tech House full of Muslim founders in the SF Bay Area in California 🇺🇸. This was our "MVP" of the tech house concept which fortunately turned out to be super successful and one that felt full of barakah. We hope it's just the first of many. The house brought founders at different stages of their journey from all over the USA, Canada and the UK to collaborate together, critique ideas and inspire one another (I'll be doing a separate thread over the next few weeks highlighting some of their work!) Mashallah the calibre of the group was insane. We had YC, Neo, Sequioa-backed founders as well as folks on the Forbes 30u30 list + apps with millions of downloads. We were very fortunate to visit YouTube / Google, Buildspace & Founders Inc HQs among other tech campuses. We also explored local campuses including Zaytuna College and Stanford University. Outside of this we explored the sights (e.g. Golden Gate bridge), went on hikes together and spent meal times together (admittedly we rinsed Zareen's and Cracked & Battered lol). Importantly, we wanted Islam to remain a foundational aspect of our trip and regularly had Islamic reminders including daily jama3a (group) Fajr and Tahajjud, as well as catching Friday prayers at Zaytuna College. We organised this one privately but inshaAllah the plan was that if it's successful to start opening this up in the future for local and international events and also have an equivalent Sister's version (organised by a sister). Watch this space if you want to find out more 👀
